Great experience for our first trip to Punta Cana and our first all inclusive in a long time. I would recommend bringing reusable insulated cups for drinks outside to keep them cool in the hot sun! Next time we will pack snacks for our room as well… I would recommend this especially if traveling with children. Bring small bills, $1’s and 5’s for tips as well as bigger bills to tip waitstaff at dinner. The staff there are definitely the highlight! Service was excellent! Staff were helpful and warm!!!

We had a pool view room. Be aware, there are no elevators. My husband has mobility issues and the only pool view room available was the second floor. They could have downgraded us for a first floor. Our room smelled so bad of mold and mildew. It was so humid in our room that our clothes and sheets were constantly damp. I actually had to blow dry my underwear one night. There are no waiters around the pool unless you were privilege. No food allowed on the pool deck unless you are privilege. The only ocean front restaurant was only open to basic customers for lunch. Food was ok. Pizza was good. Favorite was the French restaurant, but make sure the men have long pants or they won’t let them in. Other restaurants are reservation only, so unless you are privileged, good luck. Nearly impossible to get a reservation. We fortunately had a concierge, which was helpful, but not fool proof. Depending on the hostess, they would try to get you in if you walked up, but not all were willing to do so. Pools were wonderful. One noisy and active and one quieter. Beach was beautiful. Plenty of chairs and shade IF you get up early. Same around the pools. You will get a chair, but probably not an umbrella. Many people saving chairs and you never see them. There are no staff walking around and monitoring this, so you are on your own if you want to remove a towel. I did, and nobody ever came back to their chairs. Staff are wonderful!! Also, unless you are privilege, don’t expect top shelf booze.

We paid for upgraded "privilege" status which advertised an expedited check in process and personal concierge service. The check in process was a dismal failure of over 45 minutes - with no line. It would have been comedic had we not traveled for over 12 hours and were absolutely starving. The concierge service was also worthless. You are much better off making your own reservations to the restaurants and amenities. In short, the basic services you would expect from a resort were disappointing. The privilege status also advertised top-shelf alcohol. They are heavy on Scotch and light on bourbon. They have plenty of good rum available at the regular status. If you are a scotch drinker- the upgrade would be good for you. If you are not the regular status would be just fine. Now the good part- the service staff were all amazing. The bar tenders, restaurant workers, shuttle drivers, housekeeping... all wonderful. The food and beverages were of good quality, and the restaurants offered a change from the buffet. My closing would be- I am not sure if the increased cost of the upgraded status was actually worth it. I would caution anyone considering it against it.

We had a great stay at Ocean Blue and Sand! Our room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping did an amazing job on a daily basis, leaving the room clean with plenty of towels. The different figures made out of towels and flowers was a nice touch. Food was amazing! We tried all of the restaurants and they were all great. Mike’s coffee was fabulous, offering a huge selection of coffee and tea beverages, along with cakes, pastries and cheesecakes. The buffet was incredible, offering a wide range of food types and cocktails. Staff were very friendly and hardworking. The beach was gorgeous. White sand and turquoise water. Two massive pools. Our bartender at the swim up bar was very entertaining, making great cocktails. The grounds were maintained impeccably. Workers were out early morning raking fallen palm leaves and cutting dead branches. Our Expedia rep Rona went above and beyond to help us.
