The resort itself is nice but mainly for families. We booked a master suite and upon arrival we were put into a junior suite. We weren’t told of the downgrade and it wasn’t until we mentioned something that they acknowledged we were downgraded and informed us they couldn’t accommodate our room until night three. Jose and Justina were complete gems and the only reason we enjoyed our stay. We did book privilege so didn’t have to worry about reservations which was nice. The room service is NON EXISTENT. We called the room service to ask for more bottled water since our mini fridge wasn’t not stocked. We waited five hours and kept calling to check the status of the request and were hung up on numerous times. We ended up having to go to the front desk and asked for the water and were told “sorry it’ll come to the room when it does” completely unacceptable in our eyes. If you’re okay with no room service, being lied to about rooms, being scammed into a two hour time share tour then this is the place for you! If not I would highly recommend booking your vacation elsewhere.

Pros: very clean, huge resort, great waterpark and lazy river, beautiful rooms, overall absolutely beautiful resort Cons: food is not good, only 1 buffet which closes at 10:30 so if you get hungry later in the night too bad, you need to wake up at 8:00 to make reservations for restaurants, only 1 towel station in such a huge resort, beach is abit rocky in some areas, drinks are very watered down, 1 store which cost an arm and a leg, we spend over $200 on a simple shirt for my husband and swimwear for myself.

The property and facilities were outstanding. Lots to do with kids during the day. Could improve on activities by the beach at night that adults and children could enjoy togerher. The food was OK.. not great but not horrible. If youre looking for fine dining high quality options this is not the resort for you. Luis the bartender at the swim up bar was AMAZING and made our experience exceptional.

We love Ocean El Faro! There are so many activities to take advantage of. We went for a second visit with our boys & stayed 10 days. The rooms, the restaurants, the main lobby - bar, piano bar is stunning. The Mike’s coffee shop is excellent. Decor throughout is wonderful. It is easy to walk to all amenities. Our favorite restaurants were The Steakhouse & Margarita. The only one we did not try is Blue Moon. The entertainment staff are full of energy and it shows that they love what they do. The concierge Carlos and Marcos were so helpful. They are truly dedicated to making your stay the best!

Overall the property is amazing. Its very esthetically pleasing. There were many amazing staff. However we did have a poor experience due to a few. We were invited by the resort to a dinner event at one of their restaurants. No one in my family drinks. So when the staff offered their signature drink we asked if it had alcohol. They said no. I then asked if it had strawberries as i am . I had allergic. They said no. Turns out it had both, i had a horrible reaction. When I told guest services. They said they would look into the matter. Nothing was done. It was sad to see how they didnt take the situation more seriously.
