The check-in process was extremely inefficient, taking nearly two hours due to only one staff member at the desk and a non-functional pre-check-in option on the app. Upon arrival, our room lacked towels for the family and bed linens for our son. Despite calling multiple times, linens arrived after two hours, but towels were never delivered. The next morning, we experienced a power and water outage without any notice from the resort, causing further disruption. Even after water was restored around 11 AM, we still had no towels, despite repeated requests—including one made in person at 8 AM. When I escalated the matter at the concierge desk, I waited 20 minutes before speaking with the manager, Pedrito, who acknowledged the issues but did not resolve them. Instead, he introduced me to our assigned concierge, Estalin, who unprofessionally requested that I not leave a negative review about the previous evening to avoid his personal accountability. This experience was marked by poor communication, inadequate service, and unacceptable delays in basic guest accommodations. The only highlight of the visit was Eddy, our waiter in the sports bar and Hunter Steakhouse which made our last day at the resort pleasurable.

My stay at Royalton Bavaro was absolutely terrible. The room that I was offered for my honeymoon was in deplorable condition, full of dirt, stains and lack of amenities. Pictures have been attached. I am requesting support from Expedia to initiate a refund as I did not stay at the Royalton as I checked out!

Our check in experience was horrendous! Waited 40 minutes to check in and there was only 3 parties ahead of us. We were told to come back at 3pm(fair enough). We went back at 3pm and told to come back at 4:10. Went back and told our room was ready. Went to the room opened to door to a king room with a crib…we were confirmed by the front desk it was 2 doubles and a pull out (we are 3 adults). Went back to the desk and was told there was nothing else available. Not acceptable so we asked for the Manger, he tinkered on the computer for another 30 minutes with not help. Then I messaged Adoni at concierge who came out and found us a room and went to check it was the correct room. We finally got into our room around 6pm. What was our room like? Run down- bathroom door didn’t close. Bed runner stained and ripped, floor dirty. We had to call for towels and robes- which came with gross blood type stains.Food and service-The sports bar we waited 45 minutes to be served and it wasn’t busy. The buffet-staff look like they don’t want to be there, the food is luke warm at best. The a la carts- are the same. We went to the steakhouse and seafood restaurants. Concierge at the blocks are just sales vultures - prestige club club.We were told they’d join us for breakfast, but when we went we were told there was a 90 min tour. We said weren't interested, the Manager told us to ‘get out’.The grounds & pools are nice. We are frequent travellers. I was told if I plan to leave a bad review-don’t.

The property was absolutely beautiful. There was many activities to do. We really enjoyed the lazy river and spending time at the cabanas. There is endless food and drink options. We had an amazing conceirge. Adoni and Jean we're amazing! They ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. They took care of our reservations to the restaurant and helped us set up our excursion to Monkey Santuary. It was a great trip for our 3 and 1 year old girls and we look forward to visiting again.

Would not recommend. The best thing about this resort is the lazy river and nightly entertainment for children. Other than that, the staff are not friendly + rude, the food isn’t good (half the spots don’t have AC so everything is soggy), the rooms are run down and I was personally contacted by the check in staff multiple times trying to rip me off. I travelled with my husband and two young children. Don’t do it.

We had a great time at Royalton. The staff was amazing, the service was superb and the people were so welcoming. Our butler Pedro was amazing, the manager on duty Miguel R. was so helpful and nice. We can’t wait to go back.

I did not like that I had to wait 2 1/2 hours to get into my room - I did not like that our room service came 1 1/2 hours late from when we needed it in the morning before going on an excursion. I did not like that when we went to the concierge to bring it to his attention that instead of giving us a bottle of wine or something for our inconvenience, their response was for us to sit through a presentation and take more time & hours away from our vacation that we had already paid thousands of dollars to go to. This was our 2nd year in a row to come to this resort, we will not be back next year.
