Family Cottage No. 6 ☼ in charming Put-in-Bay Sleeps 6

Welcome to this charming cottage in Put-in-Bay. Guests will find three cozy bedrooms, including two queen beds and a twin bed, perfect for families or groups. The single bathroom features a refreshing shower and a hair dryer for convenience. Inside, the space stays comfortable with heating and air conditioning, making it easy to relax no matter the season. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring or enjoying quiet mornings, this tranquil retreat offers a lovely setting to make lasting memories. We’ll be available to answer any questions while you stay at our place.

Cottage No.6 underwent a complete remodel in 2021 and is situated in a residential neighborhood near Perry's Monument and a short walk to downtown. There are 2 patios out back. Grill some burgers on the gas grill, followed by a relaxing evening on the concrete patio around the fire ring in the backyard. The front porch is screened in, and a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a glass of island-made wine. There is parking for one vehicle, but could possibly accommodate more, just ask.

Built in 1938, Cottage 6 is one of 6 cottages, all built in a row and has spent its entire life as a rental. The cottage is 720 sq ft. with 3 bedrooms. The cottage retains most of it's original features and was completely updated in 2021. During the remodel the entire home was updated as well as the addition of a full size washer and dryer. The front entrance is through a screened in porch and leads to a small main room. The main room has a small entry table, television, and a daybed. All 3 bedrooms have televisions, black out curtains, and are located to the one side of the cottage. The bathroom features a shower only with sink and toilet. The kitchen has been updated with the addition of a dishwasher and electric stove. The cottage is on well water (with UV and charcoal filter) so if you are sensitive to well water I advise on bringing bottled water, or picking up some at our local store. It is easy to imagine all the wonderful memories made by families and friends over the years in the cottage. My goal is to accomplish the same and create a clean and cozy space where friends and families can gather year after year to do the same. I strive to provide you with the most comfortable stay possible. The kitchen has pots, pans, dishwasher, coffee maker & filters, toaster, plates, bowls, and utensils. Know that's is all not a matching set, but it's there. If there is anything missing you need , just ask and I'll do my best to provide it! Two bedroom feature queen size beds, and the middle bedroom has two twin beds. The front bedroom has a desk suitable for working from home. Usb ports are in all bedrooms as well as reading lights and closet space. All the televisions have local antenna channels only, but all are smart TV's and you are welcome to sign in to any of your streaming accounts. You will be provided clean linens for the beds and bath. We also have extra blankets, towels, and sheets, again if you need anything please just ask. The backyard features a concrete patio off the back of the house, gas grill, small firepit (firewood is provided), and a partial view of the lake as you exit the cottage. I want you to fully enjoy your island experience and will do anything I can to accommodate you as my guest.

Cottage 6 is a work in progress. No maintenance will take place (unless emergency) during your stay. Recent updates include new double pane windows, Fresh paint and new medicine cabinet in the bathroom, and addition of a composite deck out back.

Guest access
There is room to park one car on the property. You are welcome to bring one car and have a golf cart in the lawn. If you need extra parking, please ask normally i can accomodate.

Other things to note
The laundry is washed in All free and sensitive. If that is an issue for you please let us know at time of booking and you are welcome to bring your own linens.

Since we are on an island on Lake Erie and 300' feet away from the water, depending on the time of year is can get a little buggy at night. It's totally normal and the bugs are harmless.

There is free Wi-Fi for your use. The service is provided for your enjoyment but you are responsible for safe and appropriate use complying with all laws. If there is any loss of service please contact us, however, we are located on an island, so internet service can be spotty. No refunds will be given for lack of or loss of Wi-Fi/internet service.

Cottage six is limited to a maximum of 6 guests. If this is going to be an issue, please contact me ahead of booking. Sometimes I can accommodate your group; other times I can help find a spot that would better suit your needs. There is a $300 charge per person per night if you choose to show up with more than 6 total. I prefer to address this type of situation prior to your arrival.

The home is best suited for families. Please, no bachelor/bachelorette parties. Please respect our neighbors and honor our quiet hours after 10 pm
VRBO does not have a category for front entrance, please know there is no real living room in this cottage. The covered and screened front porch and back deck would be the largest gathering spaces.
Please know if you are bringing children, there are not any child protection items in the cottage. For example, cabinets do not lock, no covers on outlets, etc. It will be your responsibility to provide any items you need for the protection of your children.

No animals. Please leave your pets at home; we do not allow animals in the house in an effort to accommodate guests who may have allergies and avoid excessive cleaning.

We like to have fun, but we DO NOT tolerate any loud parties or belligerent drunkenness. Do not bring 1 or groups of people back to the house. The house is for registered guests only. You will be removed immediately with no refund. NO EXCEPTIONS. I am unable to accommodate additional guests without reservations.

Tampering with security cameras will lead to eviction.

I want to provide you with a 5-star stay. Please bring any issues to our attention within 24 hrs of check-in so we can correct them. Quiet hours after 10 pm. Please respect our neighbors' and home, and leave it in the condition you found it.

Please no smoking in the house/ screened in porch.

No 3rd party bookings. The person booking must be present at check in.

The cottage is limited to a maximum of 6 guests. The number of guests in the booking must match the number of guests staying. The listing is set to 6 guests; 6 guests maximum is also listed in the description of the property, and listed here in the house rules. Please do not show up with more guests than you reserved for. Contact me if this is going to be an issue, and we will work it out in advance.

Refunds will not be issued for events beyond our control. Including but not limited to power outages, internet outages, weather etc.

Any home maintenance issues, including but not limited to appliance failures, water leaks, electrical issues, hot water tank, well tank, etc., that transpire during your stay will allow me or repairmen access to the house even while guests are present.
