Loved the grotto style penthouse suite, complete with large open shower and deep jacuzzi garden tub. Everything was incredibly clean. Incredible views, even got to watch a family of monkeys in the treetops just oustide the window. The only thing I'd change is the selection of snacks in the minibar. We had a late flight arrival and check-in, and after 10 or so there is nowhere to get food nearby. The minibar was all we had! It was stocked, but it was all candy and cookies. Nuts, crackers or chips in the assortment would have made skipping dinner much easier, and helped up stave off hunger through the night while waiting for breakfast. Sweets are great, but some non-sweets would have really hit the spot. Next time we'll be better prepared and bring food if we anticipate a later arrival.

Relaxing and romantic
Pros:The staff is extremely knowledgeable and are there for any of your needs. They were always smiling and professional.
Cons:I like Whitney Houston and 90's love ballads, but not the music I would chose to listen to while relaxing by the pool and drinking pina coladas. ;)
Location:I think the location is perfect. Close enough to town and the beaches without being surrounded by tourists. Taxis are easy to get as well.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The design of the hotel is beautiful. You are surrounded by nature without being overwhelmed by it. Our balcony was private and we enjoyed sitting on it for hours watching the monkeys, horses and beautiful birds go about their day in the beautiful flora. Their are multiple beaches within walking distance and worth spending the day at. The walk into town was uphill both ways and the sun will attempt to melt you, but their are so many beautiful sites along the way that we went every day and never took a cab. Breakfast is included and delicious. They make any kind of eggs or omelets you want and have some local choices as well. Lunch and dinner are a little pricey, but worth it although I recommend going to town at El Avion or Azul Agua for a change of scenery and some great food as well. Getting to the hotel from San Jose I definitely recommend flying. The flight was only 30minutes versus the 3+ hour drive and very reasonably priced. I loved Issimo and know you will too!!!
