The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They will help setup transportation/excursions within Quito and surrounding areas. The breakfast was made fresh each morning and always included eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, and bread. The only downside is that airport transport is not included unless you book a specific number of days with the hotel.
It was a unique property, lots of charm. It says thereâs a deli there or something. They sell drinks and some chips at the front but I think thatâs it. When I checked in Yale was fantastic, sweet kind, and very helpful and knowledgeable.
The staff was so friendly and welcoming! They gave us great suggestions and personalized our breakfast. We felt very welcome and safe at this cute location close to the historic center!
From the moment we arrived we were pampered with personalized care. The staff was exceptional at making us feel welcomed and thoughtfully & attentively responding all of our requests and questions. We enjoyed extraordinary meals & wonderful walks with breath taking views.
The staff is very helpful. The location is very good, near central plaza. The building is well renovated, colonial style, very beautiful but too much stairs for people over 75 and in Quito (2800m) it is difficult to breathe. The breakfast was very good but in the 3rd floor, beautiful view but more stairs!!
Great! A 275 year old colonial building. Get ready to climb some stairs! Everyone is nice. Free breakfast is delicious. Great value for price. Cozy bed. Perfect location right by old town. Yay!
The Friends Hotel and Rooftop was everything we love about a hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until the day we departed. Each morning, a delicious, and ever changing, breakfast exceeded our expectations. We took a smaller room on an upper floor that had a view of the Panecillo and the location was convenient for walking throughout the Centro HistĂłrico. Our first choice on any visit to Quito.
This property was so welcoming from the minute we walked in. Easy taxi service, personable staff, delicious breakfast. We had an early tour to catch and they opened the breakfast early for us. Very clean room, hot shower. Lots of restaurants around and a 3 minute walk to Quitoâs historic centre.
Amazing property, right in the heart of historic Quito. The room was extremely clean, and the staff was amazing. Only downside was it got quite noisy at night (outside traffic), but it is to be expected with such a centrally-located place. Overall, we were quite pleased with this hotel, and would definately stay there again!

This hotel is absolutely awesome and exceeded our expectations! The service was outstanding, and we truly appreciated the excellent communication support with translators â it made our stay as deaf guests so much easier and more enjoyable. The rooftop offers a stunning view, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!
The staff at the Friends Hotel & Rooftop were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I was interested in exploring Quito and the sights around the city. They knew about the historic places and how to get there. They knew about the stores I needed to go to to pick up things I needed while traveling. The hotel is only a couple of blocks away from the Unesco Plaza Grande, which is at the heart of the historic center of Quito. I enjoyed walking there to see the famous cathedrals and to try out the restaurants and shops. Their free breakfasts were so delicious! They prepared them according to what you wanted and always with the freshest ingredients. Their coffee was to die for! I stayed at this fabulous hotel from April 28th to May 2nd, 2025 before I traveled to Guayaquil to meet the Sierra Club for our trip to the GalĂĄpagos Islands.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast was excellent. A small fridge was provided me upon request. Filtered water was readily available for the guests to keep in their rooms. The facility was beautifully and meaningfully decorated reflecting Ecuadorian culture.
I don't think Expedia should advertise them as having a restaurant. It's misleading, especially if the person who books really wants to have access to a restaurant in their hotel.
