Only here for a very short time, but seemed to be a good spot to catch the hop on hop off bus, some good eateries within walking distance.
Small room but enough for luggage. Good showers.
We stayed before and after going to the galapagos islands
the sign outside says english is spoken....... it seemed to be worse than my spanish
We were put in room 4 a double room with "ensuite. There was a tiny shower ( which thankfully had hot water) a basin with only cold water and no shelves, cupboards or any storeage space save fort he toilet cistern lid!!!
When we left for the islands I requested room8, up stairs, which although smaller is much better appointed. We were told it was free for our return dates. Unsurprisingly when we got back, it was "no possible" to have room 8 ...occupied ...and the fellow's limited English became non existant... I complained as forcefully as I could in my Spanish....but to no avail
invetigations revealed there are much better hostels in this price bracket in L Mariscal neighbourhood

Fine but basic
Fantastic location. Rooms are basic but all you need
Located in an awesome location in La Mariscal, this hotel turned out to be better than my expectation with greatly decorated rooms and very friendly and helpful staff!

Get what you pay for.
Very clean, no english speaking employees made things difficult. Breakfast was good, however the noise due to the poor insulation of the building resulted in zero sleep. So absolutely noisy just to have someone walk to the bathroom and just floor boards separately room above causing even more noise. for the price paid, good deal. I think I would rather pay a little more for the sleep. It is not walking distance to Old town. Must take taxi, but very cheap to do so.

Attic room without a view
Overall hotel was great. Service exceptional. However, I was on the very top floor and at 6' I bumped my head several times. The room was a converted attic. Shower was exceptional. The hottest water I have found in Ecuador. Staff very helpful. Helped me plan a bus trip and explained about cheap eateries in area. Lunches all inclusive were $2.50. The Pan Americana bus station is only 5 minutes away and the Tame airlines office only ten minutes away.
This was a low priced room but enough that we expect a comfortable bed and a decent washroom. The bed was OK but the area around it was small and low-ceilinged and there was no wall or headboard to prevent the pillows falling off so it did not meet our requirement of comfort. The bathroom failed also - there was no toilet paper and severely limited hot water - not enough for a quick shower. We had to ask for toilet paper, extra towels and soap and we are not extravagant.
Wifi was included but rarely available - a common problem anywhere in Ecuador and a real nuisance.
Breakfast was also included and not up to standard - less than minimum butter, jam, coffee etc.
It's a pity because it would not take much to have made this into a very pleasant stay instead of causing us to move on to another low cost hotel in the same area where we had a much better time.
Boa estadia. O hotel tem uma infraestrutura um pouco deficiente, mas o atendimento é muito bom e gentil. O custo_benefício vale. Tem que ser avisado que nao aceitam cartao.
