Everything was great and we will most likely return. I was disappointed the dock had been removed we were very much looking forward to sitting out there. The fire place flue had an issue so we had to use the wood stove, I had envisioned lounging in front of that huge fire. Also there quite a few cobwebs around. We also found a pill of some sort on the big bathroom floor which we discarded.
The property is a classic cabin nestled in the woods in a remote location on Lake Mooselookmeguntick with beautiful views of the water and surrounding mountains. There is a long ~20min dirt road leading to the property from Oguossac, and it is the last house on the road before a huge public wilderness. Our family enjoyed bonfires by the water, swimming and fishing (catching yellow perch and brown trout right from the dock). We came with dogs, and felt very comfortable with them in the house. Snuggling with them all around the house and letting them run free on the grounds was a real highlight. The cabin is ideal for family relaxation with many old board games, books, ping ping table and DVDs, although the TV did not work consistently. The house has no internet, which we actually found appealing at first (after telling our old kids to leave their phones at home), but we did not expect that the cell phone coverage in the area was almost non-existent. So the house is really "off grid". This was mainly inconvenient for planning activities and learning about the area, and maintain some contact with the outside world. However, we loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic old-fashioned Maine camp experience with their family and pets.
