Sam-O-Set Lodge is a true four-season retreat set along the southern shore of Rangeley Lake, offering private waterfront, sweeping lake views, and the ultimate North Woods lodge experience. Designed with large families and groups in mind, this stunning log home features an open-concept living area, spacious kitchen, and a stunning stone fireplace with a pellet stove insert — the perfect place to gather after a day outdoors. Step outside onto the expansive deck or slip into the outdoor hot tub, where you can unwind under the stars with the lake just steps away.

The private dock provides direct lake access for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating right from your backyard. Morning coffee overlooking the water, afternoon swims, and sunset dinners on the deck become part of your daily rhythm here. In the winter months, the adventure continues with direct snowmobile trail access from the property — no trailering required — making this an ideal home base for riders.

Perfect place for 8 adults and children

For a weekend of record colds, the kids will never see this weekend as one in which they had to remain indoors the entire time. With some great skiing at Saddleback and the the oversized hot tub at Sam-O-Set the kids had a ball along with the adults. Thanks for making our trip so memorable.

Sam O Set Lodge

This is a beautiful house and great location if you're looking to ski or snowmobile. The snowmobile trails go right through the property. Skiing is only a few minutes away and the house has plenty of parking and space. We had above 14 there including kids and it was great. My only complaint were the light switches don't work all that well (auto on/off switches) and we didn't have enough towels but very minor complaints. I'll go back as the house was perfect for our needs.

Great stay in Rangeley!

I would have no problem with using Morton and Furbish to stay at Sam-O- Set Or anywhere in Rangeley!. They have 5 Star communication and were very friendly when I stopped in the office. The Rangeley area is beautiful with so much to do and the lodge is the perfect home base for all those activities. Highly recommend!

Cozy cabin, great location

We stayed at Sam-O-Set with another family and had a great stay. There was plenty of room for everyone to be together or give the kids some space in the downstairs living room. House location was great- easy to get into town for skating and sledding. Would definitely stay again!

Sam-O-Set Review

Sam-O-Set is a lovely place. Very accommodating home with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean and the home was functional for the most part. There's a lot of automation in the house but some of those features didn't work. The only negative were the chairs surrounding the firepit. They're in bad shape and need to be replaced.

This property was exactly what we were looking for, plenty of bedrooms, nicely maintained, fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, beautiful views of lake, and close to Saddleback. The stall off at Morton and Furbish were wonderful and made our vacation worry free. We hope to be a regular customer.

Beautiful Lake House

My family and I had a nice vacation at this property. The house is very well maintained and fully equipped. The layout of the house is very well suited for multiple families. Plenty of thing to do in the area hiking, swimming and fishing. Nearby grocery store and gift shops.

Our family had an incredible time during our stay. We love the Rangeley area and this property in particular was perfect. The house is great - plenty of space, reliable WiFi (including desk, docking station, office setup, etc.), a great deck, hot tub and a large yard that was perfect for lawn games. We're hoping to make this property an annual summer destination for our family. Thanks so much!

Great house, great location!

We had such an amazing stay at Sam O Set Lodge! The house was very nice and quite spacious. Plenty of room inside and outside to hang out. We loved the fire pit, hot tub, and lake access. Location is great- right on the lake and a few minutes to downtown Rangeley. Close to hikes, fly fishing, and many other outdoor activities. Management was extremely responsive to our questions and requests. I would absolutely recommend this property to someone looking to take a trip to Rangeley!

Convienient location right off highway

This house has a spectacular view of Rangeley Lake from the wraparound 3 sided deck. Inside, beautiful wood throughout the house. 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Hot tub on lower level huge. 4 kayaks to use, beautiful lawn leading to private dock.

Magical Stay

Working with Morton and Furbish was FABULOUS
 Responded quickly to any questions Attentive Would Highly recommend working with their rental team if thinking of renting in Rangeley area. SamOSet Lodge was: CLEAN WELL maintained Kitchen had EVERY dish or appliance we needed. Beds were very comfortable View was beautiful HOT TUB WAS OUTSTANDING Close to town to skate and shop
.although so sad Alpine Shop is retiring
but, of course, many more beautiful shops available..be sure to check out “Welcome Home”! IGA had everything we were looking for and prices were inline with our hometown prices. Staff at Saddleback were EXTREMELY friendly
. AND OF COURSE.. CORNER BAR is a MUST for end of the day Cocktails, Mocktails and small bites. Magical stay in Rangeley!

Great mountain getaway

Property was clean, spacious, and the grounds were lovely. We enjoyed the lake view while sitting on the large wrap around deck and the use of kayaks right off the dock in the backyard was wonderful. It was equipped with most everything we needed for our multi-family vacation. We would have liked some additional seating to use around the dining table, since we were a party of 11 and there were only 6 seats. Great getaway with amazing views. Highly recommend

Great Property

Great House with lots of space and bathrooms! It was nice to have a full bathroom on each floor. Short walk to the water from the back deck and a quick ride to downtown. The kitchen lacked counter space, it could definitely use an island. Where it lacked counter space it was made up for with pots, pans and utensils. Perfectly situated where it is about the same distance to Oquossoc and downtown Rangeley. Boat rental and Jetski next door! Over all I would rent this property again!

Cant wait for next year!!

Bunk Room is missing light switch. Could not locate trashbags. 2nd year renting, and seems to be very dust heavy, fixtures and etc need to be dusted. Main living room TV remote could not be found. Place was amazing as usual the items above are just minor critiques that we're noticed :) Can't wait for next year looking to book again!!

Had a great time!!! Really loved the modernization of the home with automations and Roku tvs. Hot tub was also pleasant! Suggestions: relocate the camera by the hot tub as it caused some privacy concerns for females that were using the hot tub. The shower heads are clogged and need to be cleaning it almost makes the showers unusable. The bidet in the basement appears to be broken or installed incorrectly.

So a couple things,the dishwasher soap dispenser doesn't open during a wash,kitchen sink sprayer leaks at the base while spraying. Could not start gas stove in basement, the pilot isn't lit, and pellet stove stopped working on Saturday,i am not familiar with those, we burn with wood. All minor stuff, did not put a damper on our weekend, we had a great time and hope to return next year, and thanks for letting us bring our Newfoundland

Fantastic Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge. The house is large and open with beautiful views of the lake. It was very quiet most of our stay. The home was clean with plenty of towels for our small family. The kitchen was well equipped as we cooked a few dinners at home. The area is incredibly beautiful. We did multiple hikes in the area. We also rode ATVs and rented jet skis one day. My husband and son also did a half day fly fishing outing and they both caught multiple fish. We rented two paddleboards and the house had 4 kayaks so we were often on the lake. You won't regret renting this home! I miss the loons already but I guess we need to come back to spot a moose. The renting process was seamless. Also the hot tub was great!
