If your idea of a tropical vacation is to eat sleep and snorkel, Macs Shack ticks all the right boxes. Literally If your idea of a tropical vacation is to eat sleep and snorkel, Macs Shack ticks all the right boxes. Literally across the road from Rarotonga’s top snorkeling spot “fruits of Rarotonga”, Macs is in an ideal location for all things beachy.

Fruits of Rarotonga boast pristine waters, a deep lagoon (ideal for swimming at all tides) and lots of white sand. Here is also a bus stop there for getting to and fro.

The house itself has a good size covered verandah for outside relaxing. Inside is a roomy high ceilinged living area, with an open plan kitchen. Off the living area are the two bedrooms, with a queen in the master bedroom and two king singles in the other, there's also a single bed in the loung. The house is fully screened to keep the mozzies at bay.

The large front yard is ideal for kids of all ages as is the lagoon across the road. Macs Shack is ideal for a family needing to play in the sun, and considering its location is extremely well priced.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mac’s Shack. It was close to the beach and bus stop, not far to walk to Charlie’s. We enjoyed relaxed mornings with the chooks over breakfast outside and BBQd our some of our own meals on the lovely Weber. Clean and comfortable, spacious- great shower

Eddie was helpful and welcoming from day.1, he allowed us to pay half a day for a late checkout at 6pm for our flight home. Mac’s Shack is clean, tidy with a pleasant outlook. The best snorkelling spot is right across the road. We had an issue with hot water due to a faulty switch, but Eddie had this sorted and refunded us for time without water, very much appreciated. I would recommend this house for families and would definitely stay again

Huge shout out to Eddie for being so helpful with bookings aswell as transfers to the airport. The house is equipped with everything you need, very clean and tidy. We really enjoy our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you very much Eddie.

Perfect getaway in a great location

This little house was perfect for my two children and I to enjoy while visiting family on Raro - we hope to stay there again soon. Communication with Eddie was great - he was very friendly, proactive and accommodating and his welcome email and info pack provided all the information we needed. The house was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed - it has a relaxed holiday vibe ... What a gem!

** Great Stay **

Good property in great location. The holiday home provided the essentials for what we needed on our holiday. Kids loved the coconut knife that they could use to open coconuts. We loved having access to the beach and snorkeling without having to drive anywhere to do it. The proximity to Wigmores, small shop just a few hundred metres away, and Muri was fantastic! Eddie was awesome to deal with and prompt when we needed help. Thanks very much!!

Family Holiday Time

A first time visit to Rarotonga for my son, his partner, and their two small girls. Had I come alone I would have stayed in a resort, but as it was their first holiday abroad they wanted to stay in a house to allow them to do their own thing in their own time. Next time we will book into a resort to get that experience. Mac's Shack was tidy and clean, easily accessed, and convenient to the main centre, and to activities and swimming beaches around Muri lagoon. Thanks Eddie for opening up your home. We absolutely loved our time here in Rarotonga and will be returning for certain in the near future.

Snorkeled every day

Loved snorkeling with turtles, giant eels, and octopus not two minutes from the front door. Walks to Muri beach are more than possible from here though a car or bike suits better. Communication with Eddie was absolutely spot on and the place was cleaned very well.

Returnees

We love Titikaveka but feel Mack's Shack needs to update some appliances. The manager did replace the toaster while we were there but the hairdryer didn't work and the fridge badly needed replacing. Having said that we will come back again for another relaxing holiday.

Was perfect for what we wanted, in a quiet area yet only 15 minutes to walk to Muri. Fantastic beach just across the road, great snorkelling - if only it had of been warmer. Property had everything we needed, even a random friendly dog that befriended us. Shops close by for any bits and bobs you need. Great place will definitely be back to Rarotonga!

Brilliant location

'Mac's Shack' is way better than the photos. There are comfy couches, good beds and it is quite spacious. It was immaculately clean. The location is perfect. Access to the three best snorkeling areas Fruits of Raratonga across the road, Aroa and Black Rock a short fun trip by car, scooter or bus. A shop a few doors away; Charlies along the road for great meals, bar and live entertainment; can walk to Muri night markets. The party bus going past at 8pm is hilarious with its flashing lights and 80s music. (They go home the the way!) Chooks wandering around. It was a much more cultural experience than staying in a resort. We will definitely stay at Mac's again when we come back. Eddie thank you for being such a a gem to organize the trip with. See you in another three years!

Lovely shack in a very lovely location

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was nice and clean, and was pleasantly surprised to see it was actually nicer than the photos!... and the kids loved the garden with the chickens! We spent a great week! Definitely recommend it!

A well maintained 2 bedroom Lockwood style house set in a large section right across the road from the beach. The kitchen was well equipped, the double bed comfortable and the plumbing all worked. Large lounge/dining living area. No air conditioning but overhead fans were adequate for August temperatures. The only negative was the traffic noise from the main road but this was minor when weighed against all the other plusses. Te location is only 100m from the best snorkeling on the island.
