Newly constructed mountain retreat located on Mount Rose Hwy. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing trails right off property. Incredible scenic mountain views. Five minute drive to Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, steps away from Tannenbaum Event Center, and 15 minutes to Reno and Incline Village. 2 Bed, 1 Bath with modern stylings. Perfect for a ski vacation getaway, for wedding guests, or a relaxing weekend in the mountains and at Lake Tahoe. This is a private guest house attached to the hosts residence, owners live on site and are accessible. The only bathroom is en suite to the primary bedroom and guests will have to enter the bedroom to access the bathroom.

Mt. Rose
Great location for us. We had great access to trails while not being too far from town. The attached ADU was nicely furnished and quite comfortable for me and my two kids. Owners were very hospitable. Bonus feature was having their dogs visit us each morning.

Shady Homeowner
We booked a 4 night stay at this location and would not recommend booking this location for many reasons. Upon arrival we learned that the homeowners house is connected via hallway to the rental property. This is not clearly stated on the rental listing and you can hear the homeowners dogs and family through the walls. On the third day, an incident occurred where the homeowner shoveled snow off the rooftop causing a block of ice to come crashing through the master bedroom window. We decided that it would be best to leave the premises, allow the homeowner to clean up the room and repair the broken window. At this point we were dealing with the following and as a result we had to change our vacation plans for the rest of our trip. The only place that had availability on such short notice was over 20 miles away and we could not ski/snowboard as we had planned. • Broken master bedroom window • Glass shards on the bed, sheets and floor • Leaking vents dripping into the kitchen cabinets and laundry space • Not enough space for our family of four to sleep We are now out of pocket for the additional 2 nights at the new location including the cleaning fee and service fee which the homeowner would not reimburse us for the full amount. The response was 'This is not how this works and you have to contact Vrbo'. The homeowner did not take responsibility or ownership for causing this incident and the fact that our vacation was upended because of his actions.

Great location! Needs a couple of tweaks.
The view is great and the location is very close to mt Rose! Brand new place. Everything works and the host was very accommodating. Probably the best bet if you want to ski at the Mountain. Room for improvement would be soundproofing. The unit is attached to the main house and you can hear everything. Nothing kept us up, but a bit more soundproofing between the main house and the unit would be a plus.

Fantastic Mt Rose Ski Rental!
Amazing spot in well designed 2br unit with incredible view of the Mtns. Could see the snow cats grooming the ski mtns at night! Unit was immaculate and looked brand new. Very comfortable and well appointed with modem appliances. A very short drive to Mt Rose ski area!

Was Hopeful, but greatly disappointed in the host
Recently, my family and I booked this rental through VRBO for a winter vacation in the Lake Tahoe region. The property was situated in a secluded area, making it the perfect spot for a tranquil getaway. Our host was responsive and provided useful information before our trip, including detailed instructions for accessing the property. Unfortunately, our trip was unexpectedly cut short due to a severe weather system that rolled in faster than forecast. Our drive up to the property was uneventful, but as we passed Sacramento, the weather took a turn for the worse and the route was closed east of Colfax. All traffic heading east was forced to turn around to find alternative routes to Nevada. These alternative routes would have added six to eight hours of additional driving time to our journey, on top of the five hours we had already spent on the road. With two small children, ages four and one, we couldn't subject them to that much additional time in the car. We decided to turn around, cut our losses, and head home, as we didn't know when the roads would reopen. We later learned that the roads opened at 1:00 am on Sunday, whereas we were forced to turn around at 2:30 pm on Saturday. Throughout this process, we were in constant communication with the host, updating them on our estimated arrival time. When we decided to turn around, we contacted the host to see what our options were. The host offered to extend our booking dates for free, but due to school and work schedules, we were unable to take them up on the offer. We asked if they could provide a refund or credit for a future stay, but the host refused and cited the no-cancellation policy for the weekend. We reached out to VRBO for assistance, but they were unable to help. The host's lack of flexibility and understanding of the impact that weather can have on travel was disappointing. While we understand the need to protect the property, this strict policy does not take into account unforeseen circumstances that can affect travelers. We ended up losing a significant amount of money, and what irks me the most is that the host decided to keep our cleaning fee, even though we did not stay at the property at all. I would advise potential guests to be aware of the host's no-cancellation policy, inflexibility, and to weigh the risks before booking. While the property itself appeared lovely in photos, our overall experience was greatly impacted by the host's policy.
