This is a very nice, yet simple one-room cabin on 13+ acres with 360 degree views. It sits on a knoll about 1/4 mile as the crow flies above the little town of Republic. You can see the whole town from here, as well as the mountains in all directions. The cabin has been updated with new flooring and kitchen cabinets. The kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals, and there is also a dual propane/charcoal grill.
There is one queen bed and one full-size futon for sleeping, so max 4 people.
There is an outhouse with a sawdust toilet. There is also an outdoor shower with hot water.
You can access the cabin with a high-clearance vehicle and/or careful and slow driving, or you can hike there about 200 yards and avoid the steep road.
You can hike to town across Granite Creek two different ways. Or the drive is about 2 miles. I will be happy to share maps with you when you book. There is public land and timberland adjacent to the cabin, so you can hike or bike for miles.
If you have ever rented a forest service cabin, this is similar, although it also has electricity and a full kitchen setup. If you are looking to get away from it all and spend time on the porch taking in the view and the stars, this is the spot. Yet you can also make a quick run into town for whatever you need (restaurants, grocery store, and brewery).
