Villa Eleftherna is a superb rural hideaway set amid magnificent natural beauty, located in the picturesque village of Eleftherna in the Rethymno region. Tucked away on a quiet village lane, the villa is far more than a country cottage or a holiday home. Built on the highest point of the village, it offers breathtaking views of the Cretan Sea, Mount Psiloritis, and the surrounding landscape. Private yet not remote, Villa Eleftherna is just steps from the village square, where traditional taverns, cafes, and a mini-market can be found.

This villa is perfect! We were excited about our stay and the villa lived up to our expectations and more. The layout of the villa suited our needs perfectly, being 4 adults, there were plenty of areas to relax inside and outside the house. The facilities in the villa has everything you need abd more. We loved the location of the villa as we like to explore and thrte was so much to see abd do. We were met by our host's family Alexandros and Georgios and they were so kind, thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay....welcoming us with a wonderfully array of local delights which were delicious and very much appreciated after a long day of travelling and were on hand throughout our stay to make sure we had the best time. Communication with the host was excellent. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this villa for a holiday.

One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed in!

My girlfriend and I stayed here with a couple friends for two weeks and can say that this villa is absolutely amazing for the price. It’s huge, with beautiful views of the mountains and sea during the day as well as the stars at night. The host Alexandros and his family were very accommodating, we arrived to a welcoming tour of the property and a gift basket. There is a wonderful aroma of flowers in the morning from the garden. The barbecue pit was also stocked with coal and fire starter which was nice. Overall I would recommend this place to any small group or families looking to stay in Crete. It’s located in a peaceful village in the mountains and is a short drive to the lively city of Rethymno. Being in the center of the island it’s also no more than about a two hour drive at most to many scenic or notable places to visit. Renting a car though is a must.

Eleftherna villa

The villa was amazing and they cater for all of a family needs. This ranged from a pizza oven to a great barbecue and a great swimming pool. The owners were great hosts and the villa was maintained to a very high standard. Loved the two weeks at the villa and would highly recommend it.

Perfect stay

The Villa is beautiful and had everything we could have wanted with stunning views and a great pool. There was plenty to do locally but we made use of our hire car too and visited lots of other areas. We are a family with four children aged 9-15 years and all thoroughly enjoyed our time in Eleftherna. The service provided by Etouri was excellent with really good recommendations of where to go. What made our holiday even more special was the wonderful owner Georgious - thank you for your hospitality!

Villa Eleftherna

One of the best villas I have stayed in . The villa was beautiful and kept immaculate by the owners. The owner is on hand to greet you on your arrival and show you around . There are superb views from all the balconies of the Cretan mountains and sea. The pool is a good size and kept very clean and the garden very pretty with many places to sit and a BBQ and pizza oven . The villa is well equipped and the owners are on hand to answer any questions or help . There are many interesting places to visit nearby and the village tavernas and mini market are handy and within walking distance.

Outstanding Villa

The whole experience at the villa was outstanding, from the moment we booked and received excellent service to the the ease of check in to the assistance while we stayed. Nothing was a problem for Etouri and George!! The villa was cleaned twice weekly which was an absolute treat. The gardens were beautifully kept and maintained. The local town is small and quiet but had a romance to it, especially Andira and Manous the excellent host. Cannot promote it enough. It is rural so you need a car but everything is within easy reach. Highly recommend the beach club and the catamaran days!

Absolutely amazing place to stay

This really was a lovely place to find for our first family holiday in years. The villa is lovely - peaceful, immaculate, and the pool was great for our children who were aged 4-17. Georgios the host and his wife couldn’t have made us feel any more welcome but without being intrusive. The local area and village is quiet, with great tavernas and friendly locals. The drive to local town and beaches is easy and scenic and Bali Beach was an amazing excursion for a swim and scuba dive. Highly recommend. Nothing to fault, everything to recommend. We fully intend to return to Villa Eleftherna again, but next time for two weeks rather than the one.

Lovely stay in fantastic villa with generous, welcoming hosts

Fantastic stay, very clean and well equipped villa. Incredibly friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. Great taverna a short stroll away and plenty more a short drive further. Made the most of the heated pool despite the disappointing weather at the end of October. Would definitely return when returning to Crete.

Great villa, wonderful host

This villa was one of the best we have stayed in. Beautifully appointed, clean with an astonishing amount of thought to all the extras that make a holiday effortless. George and his family are the most generous of hosts and their many gifts and considerate touches (home produced honey and olive oil to take home with us) were above and beyond our expectations. Recommend opting for the pool heating (we went end of September) whole heartedly recommend staying here. Wonderful, warm and welcoming.

Beautiful Villa, Wonderful Hosts, Perfect Holiday

After the Covid lockdown we chose Greece and Villa Elétherna for a quiet, peaceful family holiday, four adults, two children 3 and 7, and were so pleased we did. Everything about our trip to Crete was perfect from start to finish. The Villa is immaculate and even more special than the description, above a lovely village with views of sea and hills and the moon sinking over the hills. Mr. Giorgos's garden is a piece of art, and he and wife are among the nicest people you will meet anywhere, and their sons manage the Villa and answer every need. On arrival, the Giorgos gave us a cornucopia of fruit and vegetables from their gardens along with the family wine and olive oil and honey, which they also sent us away with when we left. The pool is perfect and private and we spent alternate days at the beach and at home. The museum in Elétherna is incredible and the village friendly and relaxed and a few minutes' walk. We often had food delivered to the house. We loved the trip and Villa so much we booked it for next year before we left. Thank you so much. John and Hannah

Week in Crete

The villa was very clean and with great facilities, just as was described. The owner George was most helpful and provided us with a selection of gifts when we arrived including home made honey and olive oil along with bread, fruit, eggs and traditional Greek drinks among others. George along with his wife also cleaned the property midweek and came to clean the pool each evening also. The staff at Etouri were also really helpful and assured us with restaurant bookings for lunch and dinner and also helped with recommendations for beech locations, and even booked us into a local beech club on our travel day as we had a late flight home. Nothing was too much trouble and all the recommendations proved to be excellent choices. We will return as the week was thoroughly enjoyed by every family member

Lovely Villa on a hill

This is the best villa we’ve ever stayed at in all of our travels. We were greeted upon arrival and given a thorough tour of the premises and welcomed with gifts of fresh fruit and olive oil, honey, wine and rail made all made by our hosts. We rented a car and this was required at this location. However, during our 9-day stay, we were perfectly happy to spend some days at the villa with a short walk to town for lunch. Blow dryer, shampoo and body wash was provided, pool and bath towels, dishwasher soap and a rack for drying laundry (no clothes dryer, just a washing machine). We made use of the herbs in the garden (basil and rosemary) as well as limes from the tree in the yard. We also cooked at the villa every day, using the bbq as well as the oven and stovetop. Everything was in excellent working order and the kitchen was very well equipped. We really enjoyed the pool and had some fun games of volleyball. In October, we founded that even with highs up to 29 degrees, it started cooling down at about 4:00 pm. We highly recommend Villa Eleftherna.

Excellent villa with even better owners

The villa was very clean and beautiful with a gorgeous garden and great service thanks to the wonderful, accommodating owners. Perfect Villa Eleftherna

What can I say, that has not already been said about the villa and surrounding area? We stayed for a week, end of May/June 2019 and can honestly say that Villa Eleftherna is truly amazing! The best villa we have ever stayed at. From the moment I enquired about booking the villa, Kostas and his team at Etouri were so helpful and prompt in providing the information and advice that we needed, even arranging our taxi transfers from the airport for us. When we arrived at the villa we were warmly greeted by Kostas's brother and also his father George (the owner.) They showed us around the villa, showed us where everything was and how everything worked and even provided a wonderful welcome basket of fruit, homemade wine, bread, and honey. A day after we had settled in; Eleni from Etouri contacted us just to make sure that everything was ok and to inquire if we needed anything- once again providing exceptional service. The pool is cleaned every day, new bedding and towels refreshed once during our week stay and a thorough clean of the villa and outside area. George’s wife even provided a very delicious cake for us. Thank you, George and your family for showing us such kindness and generosity. All in all, we had a very relaxing stay at Villa Eleftherna and I very highly recommend it, it’s perfect

Beautiful, spectacular and relaxing Eleftherna

Family holiday

We were really looking forward to our holiday. From the other reviews I'd read and the pictures of the Villa we were very excited and it really lived up to our expectations in every way. My wife and I along with our two boys aged 6 & 2 came for 10 nights in May. Before we arrived I found Kostas and his team at Etouri very helpful and prompt in providing all the info we needed. We were greeted by Kostas's father George who showed us around the villa and really looked after us during our stay. He was incredibly welcoming and gave us some great advice for places to visit. Eleni who works with Kostas contacted us shortly after we arrived to offer assistance in booking outings and suggesting places to visit. We found this really helpful also. The villa and garden are incredibly beautiful and very well looked after. We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool and made good use of the barbecue and pizza oven. The villa offers lots of privacy while still being close to the small village of Eleftherna. While it's possible to walk to the village, a car is really required. There are plenty of nice beaches within 30 minutes and we found the location quite central to see other parts of the island from. We had a truly fantastic stay and I thoroughly recommend Villa Eleftherna.

Villa eleftherna is a wounderful place, so elegant and beautiful.

Our experience in the villa was amazing, we had a lovely time and really enjoyed our stay! Every one who came into the villa was so welcoming (Gorge and his family) everything was in perfect condition so clean and beautiful not one bad thing about our stay at all! If you are thinking about booking this villa don’t think twice it’s set in a beautiful quite locatin with a few tavernas that are traditional and so welcoming! Great holiday we will be going again!

Amazing Villa in beautiful Crete

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at the villa. George and his family are so welcoming, they met us when we arrived and we were greeted with homemade treats, fruits and wine. The villa is stunning, so spacious with beautiful views. The pool and gardens are so well kept with George coming to clean the pool daily. It was an added bonus to have our linen and towels changed every 3 days. I couldn’t recommend this villa more highly, the management team are always on hand with suggestions on places to go and will book restaurants for you. I would recommend a car as you are half and hours drive from Rethymon old town and the beaches of the north coast. Highly recommend visiting the old town, wonderful restaurants. We also enjoyed the beaches at Bali and Panormos in the North. We went snorkelling at Calypso beach in the south and Damnonj beach is very beautiful too. We took a trip over to Balos beach which I highly recommend, the sea is so warm and beautiful, we caught the boat from Kissamos harbour and visited Chania old town on the way home. Crete is just the most wonderful island, and the villa made it! Don’t hesitate to book!

Fantastic villa and grounds.

Stayed in the villa 17/05/17 for one week. This villa is immaculate. The amount of space, layout, pool and gardens are excellent, everything is spotlessly clean.We met part of the family and they couldn't be more welcoming with George regularly cleaning the pool and gardens. It was a pleasure to meet you. The villa is inland a little way, not overlooked at all in a historic village which has a few places for a snack or more and drinks, very peaceful. A drive of less than 30 mins to Rythemnon on good roads is well worth it with some very good restaurants around the harbour, ( we really liked La Boheme ) We would definitely visit villa Eletherma again Thank you
