Great location, fabulous view, property feels tired
There is no doubt that this is a fantastic location for a holiday in Lindos, and the view from the sun roof is really great. The property itself though, feels tired and a bit dated. We stayed during a real heatwave with temperatures over 40C at times, and this review reflects some of the issues staying at the property in high temperatures. The outside dining area is limited in size - there were 7 of us, and it was hard to all fit round the table, so with 10 I have no idea how that would work. The area has no shade, so is pretty much impossible when temperatures are in the 30s plus to sit comfortably at for lunch. We used the large bedroom with its air conditioning instead. And that brings me to the biggest issue - this property really needs an indoor communal space of some kind. The large bedroom lends itself to this, with a bed settee instead of the current arrangement. The sunroof has a fabulous view, but shade is extremely difficult to achieve; there are no lights so you can't enjoy the space after dark (there are safety lights at ground level); and it could do with some sun loungers. The kitchen gets very hot to cook in in the high temperatures, and space in it is limited. We felt some larger bins for such big groups would be helpful too. We are not a family that eats out much during our holidays and my comments would be that if you do stay here, it would be fine if you ate lunch and dinner out each day. Overall, the place feels more like a hostel
Spacious villa with five twin bedrooms. The view from the roof terrace is second to none. Bathrooms of the old Lindos style - which we're used to, so no problem. Not suitable if you have mobility issues. The owners were very helpful and friendly.
What a great find. From start to finish the communication with Selina and Stavros was perfect. We were met by Stavros on arrival and shown around the property, communication continued during our stay when needed.
Location was something else. So close to the beach, shops and restaurants and the view was breathtaking.
Facilities were perfect, comfy rooms, plenty of fridges and kettles for all groups to do their own thing.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Thank you
We particularly liked the traditional nature of this Villa, being as it is the former family home of the people who let it. Set amongst other similar buildings containing both locals homes and other holiday villas, the location is on the edge of the mazy and narrow pedestrian alleyways with their many tavernas, bars and local artisan shops and mini markets, the Villa is in the shadow of the Acropolis which towers above on one side and on the other has a view over the rooftops of Lindos and the beach which is just is a few minutes walk down the sloping path from the Villa's front door.
Our flight was delayed and so we didn't arrive into Lindos square until about 9:30 yet Stavros was on hand waiting for us to show us where to park our hire car and then take us on the short 5 minute walk to the Villa through the narrow alleyways (which are confusing at first but you get used to where you are eventually!)
On arriving at the Villa we were struck by how well the accommodation was spread out and by what a bargain it was! 5 very comfortable and clean twin bed rooms each with its own fridge (essential for the the tons of cold bottled water you will need to drink!). The rooftop is in the sun most of the day, and is very hot, but once the sun goes down it's a beautifully warm breezy spot to relax and have a drink or two before heading off into the centre.
We loved our holiday and would absolutely recommend this Villa.
We loved staying at this property. Thanks to Stavros and Selina for the friendly welcome and help throughout the stay. The property was spacious, well equipped, superbly located and the roof terrace was literally the icing on the cake. We loved having breakfast and evening drinks up there taking in the superb panoramic view. Special thanks for the flexibility on our last day allowing us to use the villa until we needed to leave for the airport. We would definitely stay here again.
This villa is superb...amazing, gorgeous view from roof top deck, especially with your morning coffee or evening night cap ( would be nice to have an umbrella or shade up there in the mid-day)...but there are 2 other shady decks to use at that time, along with the courtyard below.
the beds push together easily...but were a little too firm for most of our party. Each room has its own fridge, kettle and dishes and flatware, along with a little table and 2 chairs. The wardrobes are big and have plenty of hangers, hair drier, and a safe in each room.
the kitchen is small...with stove, dishes, cookware, kettle, toaster, panini maker., iron..no blender, no fridge (use those in the bedrooms). that was a bit awkward, but a small sacrifice.
three bathrooms with shower..but one of them was very small without a shower curtain...so one couple had to use our shower.
A/C worked great. This villa is very cool, and great for a large family or three couples. But there are quite a few stairs & steps between the decks and one of the bedrooms...so be wary if you have mobility issues.
Stavros, the owner is a sweetheart, and and answers his phone right away if you have questions. Same with Selena, - excellent communications online.
the location is the best!!! for the view, of course! and not so close to the night time music, unlike many villas in lindos....also only 5 minutes or less walk to the beach....and less than a minute walk into the Lindos maze of shops & restaurants!
Many thanks to Stavros, Selina and George for their hospitality and help with anything we needed whilst in Lindos. Nothing was too much trouble and communication was easy and instant. Fabulous Villa, fantastic location. We will return.
Had a fantastic time - 2 mins from lovely beach 2 mins from main centre
Excellent villa to stop in - very clean - Fantastic view from rooftop terrace - Ideal for couples and families. Would not recommend groups of lads as music has to be turned off at 1am but night cubs are near - Had a great time and Stavros the owner is a really nice guy. Also Lindos is not a cheap place to be stay. Lots of quality restaurants and bars.
