Host & Stay | The Annexe @ The Old Brewery
Summary:
In the oldest part of Richmond, youâll find a newly-refurbished gem. Sitting in the grounds of The Old Brewery, The Annexe has three ensuite king-size bedrooms and a family bathroom, as well as a newly-fitted kitchen, living space and a cosy snug. Itâs perfect for families and small groups wanting either a peaceful break, or quick and easy access to the beautiful Yorkshire Dale walks.
The Space:
Step into the ground floor of this modern and newly renovated property and youâll find three immaculate king-size bedrooms, each with an ensuite shower or bath. The rooms make for a truly stylish welcome, mixing new furniture with some repurposed classic items.
Take the stairs up to the first floor where youâll find the main living and dining area, offering a clean and crisp design for a beautiful and relaxing space with a few modern style touches. It features dining space for eight at a modern industrial-style table, as well as comfortable seating around a stunning open fireplace. Also on this floor, youâll find the family bathroom and a new redeveloped kitchen that gives you all you need for your stay, including a washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, microwave and coffee maker.
But this unique property is not finished there. Another staircase takes you up to a mezzanine second-floor snug, where you can find a bit of peace for your holiday among the floral artwork and welcoming soft furnishings. An additional washroom can be found up here too, as well as a sofa bed if extra sleeping space is required.
Outside the property is an outdoor space, peaceful enough for soaking up the summer sun, or for al fresco dining and evening drinks at the new outdoor furniture being introduced.
The Annexe is within the grounds of The Old Brewery, another beautiful property available for your stay. It is possible to book both together for those needing a bit more space to sleep up to 18 guests. This would be perfect for large walking groups, or friend and family get togethers, so please call our team to discuss booking both properties.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There are a number of free parking spaces just outside the property. There is also a large public car park just a minutes' walk from the property.
But, like many others, you may prefer to spend your time getting out and about walking or cycling - and what better place to do it than the stunning Yorkshire Dales. As part of the famous Coast-to-Coast route, Richmond is the perfect stopping point for those taking on one of the most scenic walking challenges in the country.
Or if youâre after some one-day routes, youâre spoiled for choice with paths to Easby Abbey and different length walks following the riverside, all starting from right near the property. Interaction with Guests:
Weâre always available for our guests so please donât hesitate to get in touch.
You enter the property though an out-house at the end of a path. Thereâs no working outside light so, if you arrive late or like to go out on an evening take a torch. When we arrived, the bins were overflowing, and bags of rubbish had been piled up along the path.
The outside area doesnât get cleaned or maintained so, if you like al fresco dining you need a stiff brush and bucket of soapy water to clean away all the rotting fruit, leaves and debris.
The inside of the property doesnât look like itâs been touched for 5-10 years. Itâs Grotty! The walls and furnishings are dirty and needed repairs have been bodged. Do not go by the description or photos online.
When we arrive the master bedroom had been flooded, the carpet was still squelchy, the room stuck of damp, and couldnât be used. In the second bedroom the en-suite toilet wouldnât flush and in the third bedroom en-suite, the tiles were covered in squashed dead flies, the broken bath taps had been repaired with a rusty bolt and the radiator looked like it had been salvaged from the Titanic which stained the towels orange with rush.
The thermostats on the radiators were either broken or missing so, you canât control the temperature in the bedrooms. The heating is either on or off everywhere.
And for some reason all the lightbulbs had been removed from the bedside lamps.
The kitchen surfaces looked clean, but it also looked like all the crumbs and dirt from the surfaces had just been swept into the cutlery draw. Cutlery an
We had a lovely stay in the Annexe. It was a great space to just be in and enjoy. The bedrooms each having en suite bathrooms was definitely a plus and they were clean and comfortable.
The only slight downfall for us was the yard area was covered in debris from the fruit trees etc so we couldnât let the dogs out without taking great care they werenât picking up rotten fruit, but we wouldnât have left them out on their own anyway, so no harm done. Iâm sure once the weather picks up itâll be a lovely space to sit out in.
I would definitely choose to stay again if weâre back in Richmond.
Perfect base for our family weekend stay (3 couples). The house is lovely with 3 equally luxe bedrooms all with en suites and 2 additional toilets/bathrooms.
Open plan living room is great for evening gatherings, with Richmond just up the hill (it is a steep climb) with loads of great shops/bars and places to eat. Walks along the river right on the doorstep.
We had a lovely stay, only thing missing was a dishwasher in kitchen. Many thanks.
