Pubic hair in bath, really hot over night, single fan didn’t cut it, could do with air con during summer. Didn’t sleep very well as a result. Having to pay for parking was a bind as well. Drinks at the bar were expensive compared to others locally.

Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Clean and convenient for what we wanted. However, we were staying on the top floor and there was no lift. My husband suffers with his knees and it was a little heavy on them having climbing 4 flights of stairs with luggage.

Historic location in an interesting town

Showing some signs of wear but still plenty of evidence of its former glory days, rooms were comfortable and staff efficient. Breakfast choice was good and cooked food tasty. The toaster is a learning challenge! Central location can make parking another challenge but readily available free discs allow a 2 hour Market Place stay for loading/unloading. The castle and riverside are close by, accessed by steep slopes.

We'd opted for a superior room as it was our anniversary. Had a lovely view of the market square. Good sized room and lovely toiletries and tea & coffee facilities (could have done with more herbal tea options, but we'd brought our own just in case.) Nice touch to be able to get fresh milk for drinks, rather than the milk sachets.. Staff friendly and helpful eg looked up the local cinema times for us. Thanks
