About this property
El Apartamentito At The Plaza
El Apartamentito at The Plaza is a studio for two, right on Rincón's town
square. It's just been refreshed — new paint, new tile — and set up to be an
easy, comfortable base for exploring the town on foot.
The space is one bright room with a comfortable full bed, quality linens,
pillows and towels provided, and its own air conditioning unit. There's a full
bathroom with a walk-in shower, hot water, hair dryer and iron. A Smart TV and
high-speed Wi-Fi are there when you want them, and the plaza is right outside
when you don't.
The kitchenette handles more than most studios: a full-size refrigerator and
freezer, an induction cooktop with induction-ready cookware included, a
microwave, coffee maker, cooking basics, and dishes and silverware for two.
Enough to make breakfast properly and keep drinks cold — though with the
town's best restaurants a minute from the door, you may not use it much.
Self check-in from 4:00 PM by lockbox — nobody to meet, nothing to collect.
The studio is on the first floor, four steps up from street level, worth
knowing if you're travelling with heavy luggage. Check-out is 11:00 AM.
Good to know: you're on the plaza, not near it — which means you'll hear it.
There are restaurants on either side, music from the square, and traffic on
the street below, particularly on Thursday art walk nights when the plaza runs
late. That's the trade for having everything at your door, and for the right
guest it's the whole appeal. If you'd rather have quiet evenings, we have
other properties a couple of minutes up the street and we'd genuinely rather
put you in one of those.
Parking is free on the street but there's none on the property. Weekdays are
easy; weekends and evenings fill up as the restaurants get busy. The good news
is you can park once and walk everywhere for the rest of your stay.
We're a message away if you need anything, and we know Rincón well — ask us
where to eat, where to surf, or how to get around, and we'll point you
somewhere good.
The studio is entirely yours for your stay — your own entrance, your own
space, no shared rooms and no interruptions. Come and go on your own schedule.
Downtown Rincón is a small surf town built around its plaza, and this studio
sits right on it. Mornings are quiet and slow — coffee and pastries a minute
away, locals crossing the square, the smell of the panadería. By evening the
same square fills with music, families, and people spilling out of the
restaurants.
You're surrounded by the best of it. El Despecho is next door and Vatos Locos
is right behind you. Within a two-minute walk you'll find Rincón Beer Co for
locally brewed craft beer and live music, Dulcis Vita for coffee and cupcakes,
Das Alpen for German food, The Green Thumb Grill for healthy and vegan plates,
Café 413 for breakfast or a drink at night, and Panadería Rincoeña for pastries
worth getting up for. Five of the town's ten top-rated restaurants are inside
that radius.
Two events set the rhythm of the week. Sunday brings the farmers market with
locally grown organic produce. Thursday is the art walk, when local artisans
fill the streets from 4pm and the plaza comes alive with drinks and dancing
well into the night.
The Balneario — Rincón's public beach — and the marina are a ten-minute walk.
The surf breaks the town is known for, Domes, María's and Sandy Beach, are a
few minutes' drive, along with the Punta Higüero lighthouse. Sunset at the
malecón is a daily ritual worth joining.
There's a supermarket nearby, plenty of small shops, and the municipal police
station is a couple of doors down. Everything you need is on foot — which is
the real luxury of staying here.
Getting here: the closest airport is Rafael Hernández (BQN) in Aguadilla,
about 30 minutes away, with several rental car companies on site. San Juan
(SJU) is roughly 2 to 2.5 hours by car. If you'd rather not drive from the
airport, we can arrange private transportation from Aguadilla, San Juan or
Ponce — just message us before your trip and we'll set it up.
Once you're here: this is the most walkable address in Rincón. Restaurants,
the plaza, the farmers market, shops and a supermarket are all within a couple
of minutes on foot, and the Balneario and marina are about ten minutes' walk.
For the days you're staying in town, you won't need the car at all.
For everything else, you'll want one. Rincón spreads out, and the surf breaks
and beaches the town is known for — Domes, María's, Sandy Beach, the Punta
Higüero lighthouse — are a short drive rather than a walk. Públicos (shared
local taxis) run but are limited, and Uber isn't reliable here, so a rental
car is the practical choice for exploring.
Parking: there's free street parking around the property and no parking on
site. Spots are usually available on weekdays, but the plaza fills up on
weekends and in the evenings when the restaurants are busy — plan to park once
and leave it, which is easy to do when everything is walkable from the door.
