The penthouse is steps from the lake and includes access to all Bernard's Landing resort amenities, including a YEAR-ROUND INDOOR POOL AND HOT TUB, seasonally-open outdoor pools, a beach, fitness room, tennis/pickleball courts, and more. Overnight dock slip/trailer options convenient and available for a small fee paid to Bernard's Landing. On-site boat rentals available in the high season; nearby rentals available off-season (Bridgewater Marina). The unit itself is spacious with high ceilings, an updated but comfortable feel, and a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Great Lake access!

Very clean! Super convenient if you are planning on using the lake. About an hour from Liberty University. We stayed here while attending LU’s graduation. Perfect for our family of 6! We brought our boat. The resort had everything we needed to make our time at the lake memorable! We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent Stay!

We stayed at Bernard's Landing in this penthouse condo. Three-bedroom condo was spacious, clean and well equipped for our long weekend. Condo is well decorated, and view is amazing, very much enjoyed the outdoor patio! Alex was a great host, very attentive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

There are gorgeous views of the pool, lake and the mountains from the living room. The unit has been well maintained and was better than we remembered. Alex was extremely responsive and excellent host. This is my top choice penthouse unit in Bernards Landing!

Very nice condo and great amenities

Condo was very neat, clean, and organized. Didn’t feel like I was lost and looking for things all week. Loved all of the labels! The pool at our building was perfect (even if it was a lot of stairs to climb). The amenities that went with Bernard’s Landing were perfect for my son with special needs, especially the pool table and the basketball hoop inside the racquetball court. Our grown family of six felt very comfortable with the layout and the amount of space in the condo. I would recommend it.

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

Short Family Trip

We enjoyed the stay quite a bit. It was our first trip to Smith mountain lake, and Bernard's landing was great. The pool out back was my 6 year old daughter's favorite, and the little sandy beach by the community center was our 3 year old son's pick. We were only there for a few nights, but the condo suited our family. It was well appointed with most everything you would need. It's very close to all Bernard's Landing's amenities, and fairly close to other amenities and infrastructure around SML. I would recommend this property to other families and would happily stay here again at some future point when we vacation at SML.

Perfect for our family

All 5 of us enjoyed every minute in this beautiful condo and all the many included amenities of the resort, a pool just below the unit, tennis and pickleball courts, etc... There are courtesy docks to keep our boat while there for a small fee. We were impressed with how well equipped this place was and having 3 full bathrooms was also exceptional. The owner was friendly, responsive, and provided thorough instructions.

Lovely Getaway!

Our family of six had an excellent experience staying at Alex’s property. It was just as described. The view of the mountains and lake from the main family room was beautiful!! Alex was a wonderful host and so easy to communicate with. He provided us with helpful information before our visit. This was our family’s first time visiting Smith Mtn Lake and it did not disappoint. The amenities at this resort were great. The pool, hot tub, beach and basketball kept our kids busy during our spring break trip. It was also a nice, scenic place to walk around. Thank you for a great stay, Alex!!

Great views and location!

First off, kudos to the owner who helped us out greatly when we needed to extend our stay 4 days. Condo was well appointed with a great view. We stayed about a month and it was a lot of fun getting to know the area and the locals.

Awesome week

We’ve gone to SML many times but this place with the whole Bernard’s landing atmosphere was amazing. We loved everything. The convenience of having the lake, pool, and boat dock right there was priceless. We would definitely stay here again. Our host was great at emailing me back quickly after my numerous questions. We were there for a wedding (ours) and it was extremely stressful. The one thing that was smooth and easy was everything about renting this place. I never had such an easy experience renting a vacation spot. We are extremely pleased with the house, the view, and the location. We would definitely stay here again.

Great resort and condo

We had a wonderful family vacation! Alex was great to work with. Alex was very detailed when we asked questions, and always available when we had questions. Great location with pool right below condo, dock, Napoli restaurant, Bernie’s store all so close. The condo had all the comforts of home. Please be aware this is the top floor, so has several sets of steps to get to. This was no problem for our family, but could be for older couples and families. Thank you for sharing your home with us! A good time was had by all! Can’t wait to return!

Perfect Getaway

The condo was exactly as described. We enjoyed easy access to the pool, lake, and club house. The only item that was a little unclear was regarding trash removal. It was definitely further than expected especially while carrying trash. Otherwise, the trip was amazing and I am looking forward to returning.
