The restaurant, bar and housekeeping staff is hard working and very friendly. The front desk staff is not friendly at all. The dive shop was amazing and their best feature by far. There is no comfortable seating in the room or patio and the bed was literally as hard as a brick. I tried pressing my finger into the mattress and there was no give at all. The resort sells what is already limited beach chairs to cruise passengers and allows people to reserve the remaining few all day even if they’re nowhere near the beach area for hours. Food was less than mediocre and overpriced for what you get.
Made the mistake of booking a day tour with the resort. It started off with them telling we had to pay by cash or pay 50 dollars in fees if paying by card. Resort employee hands us over to his mother who proceeds to tell us all about her woes for a few hours, takes us to a ‘local’ place for lunch instead of the restaurant we were supposed to go to. She tells us partway through lunch ‘thanks for buying us lunch’ meaning her and the boyfriend she picked up part way through the tour. We’re across the island and alone with her and her boyfriend so we pay the large tab (again in cash) without arguing. The iguana farm was closed on Sundays which is a stop we were supposed to make so instead they took us to another animal place when we started mentioning a partial refund from the resort. All in all it was a very odd and expensive encounter way beyond the cost of the day trip. Don’t stay here.
