Staff are amazing as is the food and service. The stay was ruined by our room which was old and tired. The air conditioning unit would rattle and hum during the night (it was switched off) and the road noise is very loud. We reported the issues on the first night and they said they would look at the air conditioning unit but it was not fixed. We were due t stay 3 nights but left after 2.

Awful awful room. Curtains hanging off the wall, stained lampshades, cracked sink. Bathroom door was wet at the bottom where the shower had overflown with previous guests. This meant we couldn't shut the door and there was wood splinters all over the floor the whole time. Room smelt mouldy and all our clothes and other items that we took now smell bad. For the money we paid, we are disgusted that we were expected to stay in this room. We did ask to move but no alternatives available.

The hotel staff were warm and welcoming, the facilities on offer were extensive pool, gym etc but didn’t have time to use them on this occasion. Drinks/food can be ordered 24 hours but at times there doesn’t appear to be enough staff available so there can be a wait and I was overcharged for drinks, I realised after checking the prices. The hotel itself would benefit from a refurb, lots of the doors need replacing

Overall the stay was good. Would have made it excellent if the property was in top condition. Property needs some work done to bring it up to standard. Many areas including within room, you can see it's starting to become run down with flaking paint, broken radiators, ripped furniture. Also bathrooms could do with a proper clean as mold could be seen around the bathtub seals. However, for me, this all wasn't a big concern and the service received from the staff, more than made up for it. Have to give 10/10 to the staff for their service and professionalism especially as I required milk for my daughter and with no microwave/fridge in the room, had to keep going down to the bar/coffee area to get warm/hot milk at different times of the day which was provided without any issues and without charge even though I was more than willing to pay for it. Free parking, swimming pool, breakfast etc was all more of a bonus for me.

Family stay - pros & cons

Friendly and welcoming staff, spacious room and lovely big breakfast! However, the shower was difficult to use and the drain was slow to empty so the bath half filled during the shower. The pool was a nice bonus for the kids with towels included making it easy to access during our short stay. But it was far too busy in the morning leaving only a small area available for children to swim (one lane and a shallow area). My partner was at the edge of the lane divider of the family area to watch the kids but he was hit in the head by another guest swimming on the other side, who didn't apologise! We had only been in a few minutes and this caused him to exit the pool early. More adult guests arriving & then swimming in the "family area" made me feel uneasy about the kids safety so we didn't stay long. This wasn't the hotels fault and if we had gone at a different time, it might have felt better. The kids still had fun and enjoyed a large breakfast afterwards and the staff were friendly and helpful making them pancakes. There was also a small play area in the lobby so we could relax while the kids played for a bit.

Receptionist was lovely, 1st room had a burst A/C water coming out. 2nd room was provided not a problem. Shower broke in 2nd room, someone cane into room at 7:30am because reception hadn’t noted I changed rooms. I will stay again and hope the same things don’t happen again.
