We had such a wonderful time staying at Lyrebird Cottage! Clean, tidy, cosy, welcoming, easy to access, well equipped and incredibly picturesque! Our family of 5 (1 x tween and 2 x teens) had a wonderful stay and hope to return before too long.
An easy drive to Kiama (and Jamberoo) but nestled away in peaceful bushland, it was the perfect get away location for us.
Our Favourite Accommodation on our driving holiday!
What a perfect place to stay in Kiama! Our family of five loved our two-night stay at Lyrebird Bush Cottage. It was beautifully presented and we appreciated how well appointed and clean it was whilst still been family friendly. Our favourite part of our stay was waking up to the magnificent sea view with the bush surrounding us and bird calls aplenty. We also loved the detailed list that Emily sent us via our Stayz inbox of all the local 'best of' list on the day of our arrival- we certainly took it as a challenge to see, eat, drink and do all that we could on that list (coffee and local fish and chips recommendations etc = perfect). Do yourself a favour and enjoy this little slice of heaven. Thanks Emily, we loved it!
The stay started off terribly with a woeful check in.. we were left stranded for 4hours with a newborn and toddler whilst waiting for the check in code (the owner had messaged the previous day to say we could have access to the property from midday). We were unable to reach the owner and stayz did not have access to the code. This was extremely stressful as it was cold outside and my newborn was unsettled. Thankfully we received the code late in the afternoon and we were able to warm up by the fire. A bit of compensation for this inconvenience would have been appreciated.
The property was very cosy, warm and comfortable. My parents loves the lyrebirds and my son loved the wallaby. The play equipment was a bit run down and damp with a couple of leaches spotted. My son made good use of the toys and books.
The master bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was really modern.
The area is some of the most lush countryside Iâve ever been in and we look forward to returning to the area soon.
I stayed in the cottage with my family, everyone loved it, including the children. The place is well taken care of, clean and has everything you need if you are traveling with children/infants. Highly recommended !
Emily and Trentâs house was the perfect escape away. From the peaceful surroundings to the cosy fireplace and play area at the back for the kids. The house is clean and comes with all the luxuries. Beds are super comfy too! We had a great time and will definitely be back
