Overall we were pleased with the Aqualodge because sleeping / living on a boat is so different from a regular hotel room.
Pros: great privacy - being gently rocked by the bay water at night - your boat is your own individual beach - have all your meals right by the water - you can cook your own meals and save $$ - unusual experience overall.
Cons: not being able to come and go as you please individually since you have to take the inflatable motor boat and it takes about 5-10 minutes - the ride is a bit wavy especially against the wind on your way back so you will get wet - there is no wifi or proximity to wifi, being in the middle of a bay - Bedding a bit hard even though it said 'premium bedding' in presentation - Dry (i.e compost) toilets are awesome for the planet but a bit smelly!
Conclusion: definitely a thing to try once in your vacations! Maybe not for a whole week but 3 days definitely. Do not expect same comfort as hotel but once you know that, you'll love it.
The Aqua Lodge gives you the feel of living on a sailboat, but with many added conveniences. The lodge we stayed in was at Pain du Sucre Bay in Terre-de-Haut, Les Saintes. The location was absolutely stunning with fantastic views and great snorkeling in the Bay. The only drawback is the difficult trail from the road to the beach. If you are less mobile, this would be very difficult. You are also far from town (at least a 1/2 hour walk uphill!), so to go shopping or to restaurants, you need to get a taxi or rent a cart.
The lodge looked quite new, was squeaky clean and quite comfortable. It has a full size refrigerator, an oven and even a dishwasher. Everything is solar powered, but we had no issues with that at all. Water is generated on-board (only drink it after boiling!) and we had ample to take a shower twice a day. There is no air conditioning, but that is not needed because there is always some breeze. We did not see a single mosquito on board. I guess they prefer to stay on land.
The kitchen has a walk-on-window in the floor. At night you can turn on the underwater lights and see 6 ft. tarpons swimming under and around the boat: very cool.
The dinghy is battery operated and came with a spare battery. We used it so go to/from the beach and drive around the bay. There is also an SUP and a one person sit-on-top kayak.
We loved our stay and highly recommend it. Just be aware of the accessibility.
