The tourist residence "Château Ricard" listed as a historic monument offers you for your holidays fully equipped and comfortable apartments, in the heart of Saint Geniez d'Olt and Aubrac.
In the heart of the old center of Saint Gêniez d'Olt on a terrace overlooking the Lot, this private mansion offers one of the best examples, in Rouergue, of civil architecture in the classical era. It symbolizes the history of the city and its wealth in the time of Louis XIV. Built in the shape of a U - central main building adjoined by two wings in return - forming a closed courtyard with a large portal overlooking the rue Hvgonnet, the building develops on the facade, opposite the Lot, a triple level of openings, completed by a roof with cut sides (Mansart style).
The doors, treated, like the windows, in regular limestone chained, are soberly decorated with pediments of half-moons, with pot-au-feu in bas-relief.
The garden is limited, towards the Lot by a beautiful stone balustrade very similar to that of the stairs of the parish church. If certain elements still relate its architecture to the reign of Louis XIII, the arrangement "between courtyard and garden", the octagonal vestibule, the sober decor, the staircase rejected on a wing, offer an architectural repertoire specific to the century of Louis XIV.
The hotel occupies nearly 1,000 m2 of available space, on a plot of approximately 2,000 m2
The Hôtel de Ricard is therefore an old mansion from the 17th century, in a neoclassical style. It is formed on four levels (two floors and an attic), of a U-shaped building forming an irregular square about 22 meters square. The wings of the building overlook a narrow, high courtyard separated from the street by a wall with a portal. The main facade overlooks an old enclosed garden of 1000 m2, transformed into a meadow overlooking the Lot bed for about ten meters.
In the garden, an old 110 m2 working barn and an old orange grove occupy the corners.
Like any neoclassical building, this building originally offered very large interconnecting rooms of around 40 m2 each, with a high ceiling height (3.5 to 3.8 m).
