In the heart of the rolling countryside of the Côtes Chalonnaises, immersed in a literal postcard landscape, in the hollow of a splendid plateau of vineyards, on the slopes of a wooded hill protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF (for its faunal riches & floristic), sheltering at its summit the ruins of the medieval fortified castle of Montaigu, erected in the 10th century, steeped in great history (possession of the Dukes of Burgundy, having played a notable role in the wars of religion), dominating the sublime Valley of Vaux & the Val de Saône in the extension of the Montabon hill covered with a vast forest (rich in exceptional panoramic belvederes).
