Friendly staff

The staff was very friendly when I checked in and when I asked how to close my door (the lock was finicky). Parking was adequate. Didn't have breakfast. Comfy bed. Nice shower (one that doesn't have a door but also doesn't spray out into the room). Limited outlets made recharging devices take on a triage system. Heard everyone who came in after 2 AM, as all doors seemed to slam shut. Coats of paint are needed everywhere, and the place could use a decent renovation. Great boulangerie across the street, and grocery right next door.

Change to our original booking

We were unable to honour our original booking due to a Brexit related problem with our dogs at the Channel Tunnel in the UK. I emailed the hotel and received a reply the following day saying that our stay would be honoured for the following night which we were able to accept and subsequently arrived and stayed. No additional charge was requested, only the extra for our dogs to be in the room with us. Well done Ibis Budget Dax

Air conditioning didn’t work and room was boiling and couldn’t sleep, after driving 11 hours not the best place to rest and refuel for the next 7 hour journey. The gentleman at the reception was nice but once we got into the room and settled in he had already finished and there was no one there to advise about the air conditioning

Budget in every way :-)

On arrival we were greeted by a smashed door with the glass held together with masking tape. The reception was closed (3pm!) but there was an automated checkin machine. All I had to do was insert my confirmation number which I did, 5 times, and it wouldn't recognise it. No problem, there's a phone number to call if you're having difficulty getting in. The call went straight to voicemail so we had to wait 2 hours to check in. The girl on reception was extremely helpful, no problem at all. Tea and coffee were via vending machines in the hallway, again this is a budget hotel, no problem. The room was clean enough. Very basic, but you get what you pay for. The locale is commercial, retail park stuff but there's a very nice lake close by and some good walks accessed behind the retail "sheds". It was just a "get the head down" on a long journey up from Southern Spain so it was OK for us and at the price there's nothing to complain about.

Good night for a good price

Good clean basic accommodation. The breakfasts was ok but we have enjoyed better at other IBIS hotels where fresh produce was more plentiful. The restaurant next door offers really food at great price and is very conveniently situated and enhances the overall experience. We found it difficult to find the location despite using a sat-nav maybe better location guide would help?
