When I arrived at this property the owner finally answered the door, she said she had no knowledge of my booking. Finally I had to email her a copy of my confirmation. This wasn't made any easier by her statement that "she spoke no English" - the website clearly states multilingual staff. (In fact it later became clear she did speak English).
The 'living-room' is actually set out as a shop and did not feel welcoming - I was not invited to use it anyway.
The only restaurant in Salives was unable to provide a dinner so I had to drive 25km (and the same distance back) for a meal. As a result I arrived at the accommodation as the church clock struck 10pm. It took me over 10 minutes of ringing the bell to gain admittance as the key provided would not open the front door (it had been locked with a second lock for which I was not given a key).
The church clock (about 50m from my room) loudly struck the hour and half-hour from early in the morning.
During the sparse French breakfast I was studiously ignored by the owner, which summed up my stay.
All this is a shame - it's an interesting property and both the shower and the bed were above average.
