Only a few little things would've made our stay perfect. The patch of grass in front needed to be mowed and it would've been nice to have outside lights for night time. Also, a bigger trash can in the kitchen and bathroom would be helpful and would've also been nice to have a k-pod coffee pot so you wouldnt have to make a mess in the kitchen. Ottherwise.... super cute place and friendly owner.
This was my first time booking a VRBO property so there were things missed on my end when booking. We didn't realize this was a garage turned into a small rental nor that the address was different than the listing so, we followed the GPS and it took us to the main property. When we arrived my husband got out to see if the address was correct, never knocked or anything and realized it wasn't the rental and was returning to the car when the host came out with a very agitated demeanor that we had came to her address and stated she was on a business call as though we were such an inconvenience to her at this point. We were taken aback by her demeanor and comment. Trust me we had driven two days at this point so we wanted to be at the correct house more than she wanted us to be at the correct house, just not a good first impression. Then she tells us to follow the instructions and my husband and myself are explaining I don't see the instructions she's speaking of. What was shown on my end was totally different than what she was speaking of so, it's very uncomfortable at this point. Unbeknownst to me she had sent a message in the app days prior with a long list of directions and instructions. I missed this do to not knowing at the time if all of our children would be making the trip and I hadn't paid in full yet since the host was waiting to know the exact number of guest because she charged 15 extra per person for more than the allowed amount which is still confusing to me as th
I enjoyed a three night stay at the Little Alsace House. The accommodations were perfect!!! The house was cozy yet spacious. There were plenty of linens and a well stocked kitchen. Lynn the owner was always available and very personable. This will defiantly be my choice for my next over night stay in Castroville
The property was super cute and nice for a short trip of just me, my mom, and my dog. The only thing that was sort of questionable is there is a garage on the side of the house and people were going in and out of it around 11:30pm which woke up my dog and I. Also the only bathroom accessible is in the bedroom so not the best place for large families to stay. My mom also said although there is an AC unit in the bedroom it still gets hot in there.
The place was great! Clean, easy check in and out, and great communication by the owner. It's close enough to San Antonio, but still far enough out of the city for some peace and quiet. I'd definitely stay here again.
I DID NOT END UP STAYING AT THE RENTAL NOR DID I DRIVE TO IT...BUT THE LADY/OWNER WHO ASSISTED ME THROUGH TEXTS AND EMAIL, ETC. WASTHOUGHTFUL AND CARING...I could tell from the pictures and things the owner told me that it would be/would have been a nice stay! I needed to get back home about 2.5 hours away. I look forward to possibly staying in this rental later though.
Cozy little guesthouse in a beautiful neighborhood
Wonderful host, and the Amelia House has everything you need for a weekend getaway. We came to visit The Alamo & Riverwalk. To San Antonio is about 30mins. We enjoyed the historic tour in Castroville. Moye Retreat Center is beautiful. If you like late 1800's buildings you will enjoy the town.
Fantastic house in fantastic location, great walking neighborhood, easy access to both hill country and downtown San Antonio. Super responsive host communication to help us settle in. As described but better so we extended .
I absolutely enjoyed my stay here. The property was wonderful and in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It's located in a great spot to be accessible to San Antonio as well as to hiking and other outdoor experiences in this part of Texas. If you're looking for a great place to spend a few days in Texas, I couldn't recommend a place much better than this.
