Charming old -style hotel . Beautiful lobby . We appreciated the breakfast and the free wine and cheese every afternoon . Staff was graceful and very helpful . We could also walk everywhere .
The area is sketchy. We heard gun shots and ambulances all night long. Getting out of cars at night for valet we did not feel safe. The hotel is older and amenities are scarce but our room was nice- hot showers- good water pressure. Comfy beds and clean sheets. We did find mosquitos in the room but to be expected. Parking is pricey at $57 per night. Continental breakfast was basic but good.
This hotel is in a great location. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The $46 valet parking was a little suprising, but still cheaper than most other hotels. Rooms are very spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. There is no A/C but the windows can be opened ( for cool ocean breeze) and they have portale fans. It is a historic building & must that way.
It was in a terrible area. Very old room was dirty. When I left in morning at 5:20am I gave Calvin my valet ticket and he said it would be 30mins to retrieve my car. I explained I had to go work so he said I could walk to parking garage 2 blocks down on left. It was almost 6 blocks walking through homeless, urine and feces on the sidewalk. I am 60 year old Female and have never been more scared! When I finally found the garage it took 10 minutes for the guy to bring my car down. TERRIBLE!
Our stay at the Beresford was nice for the most part. The building inside had a feel of uniqueness about it. The continental breakfast was adequate. We did not have any housekeeping while we were there, so canât respond to that. We had a junior suite and it was nice. The water pressure in the sinks were really weak but the front desk was told at checkout. The television was not the best. The noise at night is like any other big city, lots of ambulances screaming in the middle of the night. One night we were there it sounded like a round of guns were fired, very scary! Maybe just fireworks at 3:00am. Drugs were being sold on Jones Ave.the corner of the hotel so we got some screaming annd yelling in the middle of the night. And right outside our window. Beds were comfortable. All in all, for the money we spent to stay there, it was average.
