Very happy with my one night stay at the hotel. The hotel looks new or was recently updated with a modern look and feel. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable and room was also updated. Location is super convenient location to Cal Poly and an easy walk to Higuera Street. Loved the convenient EV charging in the covered parking structure.

My kids were looking forward to the swimming pool, and when we arrived the staff informed us that it's unavailable. As a consolation, the hotel offered us to cancel for free. I thought that gesture came across as smug instead of sincerely apologetic. I asked for maybe the $15 parking fee to be waived, and the staff just simply repeated the offer to cancel without cancelation charge.

We were in SLO for 4 days to attend a wedding. The wedding was at the Madonna Inn, but we chose to stay downtown. The La Quinta was in a convenient location for dining and shopping. We enjoyed our stay.

This was our second time at the hotel. We love the rooftop pool and came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and chill at the pool and beautiful lounge zone. Even though we booked the hotel a month in advance, we were only informed during check-in that the pool was closed, and they couldn't have informed us in advance because we booked through a third party. They offered to refund money and cancel the reservation, that was not an option after several hours driving. Disappointed to be honest

The room was fine, and breakfast OK. Bathroom could do with having more hooks or hangers, particularly since the hotel tries to change linen every 3 days. It was hard to keep towels dry. Pool was shut down for maintenance (which is great that the hotel is servicing it), but I wish this was clear when booking. Overall, comfortable and convenient, and good value for price.
