Cardinal Casa

The Cardinal Casa is a secluded comfortable home on acreage only 10 minutes from Bobcat Stadium. Located in the hill country, our spacious home has everything you need for a getaway. Chill in the living room and watch the 65" Smart TV while birds drink from the birdbath right outside the front windows. Play bocce ball, badminton, or volleyball in the backyard or hang out in the shady front yard. Gaze at the stars at night in the glow of string lighting in your private zone of bliss.
The space
The San Marcos River and Aquarena Springs glass bottom boat tours are less than 15 minutes away. Also, the hiking trails on Lime Kiln Road are nearby and the Flying Armadillo disc golf course and playground are just around the corner.
Guest access
The automatic coded entrance gate is available for coming and going 24 hours a day. Cardinal Casa guests have private access to about an acre around the house. This includes a fenced front yard and a backyard that is fenced as part of the larger shared acreage. A co host resides in the yellow house near the entrance gate, and also a family member restores wood furniture in the metal building across from the parking area. Please accompany your pets when in the backyard or in the shared space around the ping pong table. Through the trees from the backyard sits the Bluebird Nest VRBO on its own fenced acre with a separate driveway.

We enjoyed our time at Cardinal Casa. It was lovely and quiet and comfortable. The hosts were very nice with recommendations for things to check out in the area as well as checking in to see if we needed anything during our stay. Looking forward to staying again when we need a quiet relaxing weekend!

Summer last hoorah

Clay was very accommodating and responsive and ensured we had directions to the property. The kitchen set up was great! Super peaceful and even saw a few deer! Highly recommend this spot.

Great place in the country but still near town!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here! Comfy beds, super quiet, event got to see some wildlife out and about! Really appreciated the yard being cut, made life with my little dog easy. Clear instructions, nice tv, comfy couches, really spacious as well. We enjoyed our stay here!

Little hide away

Property was clean and quiet. I loved how remote it was. There are a lot of bugs so use bug spray! Only thing to mention is that it's dirt road. There were some holes and bumps. Drive slow. It was somewhat hard to find. Took us about 3 tries to get to the correct road.

A Place With Some Space

We simply looked for something pet friendly with a touch of charm Man O Man First of all, because of the final stretch of road, you begin getting scary movie vibes until you realize you're in a neighborhood, like perfect reception kind of neighborhood. But we had all kinds of privacy, and the grounds were spacious and gorgeous. I mean, show off for all your friends gorgeous. The house itself is huge, much bigger than expected, it's fully stocked and easy to figure out. The owner leaves notes all over the house explaining the inside scoop. And they are also very on hand if needed. It's a very nice property, and we truly loved our time there. I think our dogs fell in love. Check out and clean up were incredibly easy. I wish we could have stayed longer. It's the kind of stay that keeps you using VRBO rentals vs a hotel. Good Job

Great time at the Cardinal Casa

We really enjoyed our time at the Cardinal Casa. We had planty of room in the house, it was very clean and very quiet. The house is located a bit in the country, but it doesn't take long too get to the heart of San Marcos (and beyond) from there, so the semi-rural feel added to the experience for us.

As described

The house was very nice, clean and well equipped. Wi-Fi, huge smart TV was a great plus for us, really enjoyed the bowl games and our favorite streaming shows. The outside area was lovely and very peaceful, sitting outside in the back on the swing enjoying the fire pit was the best.
