A Charming Seaside Escape-Spring Special

Spring Special 3/1 thru 5/21
Breathtaking, ocean views. Private beach access just steps away from San Simeon Beach, where your dog is welcome to run and play in the surf for miles. Fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves, and the scent of fresh salt air. The great room has a electric fireplace, a flat screen TV with Direct TV, Wifi access, and a DVD player. Just outside on the deck, you’ll find the propane BBQ. Visit Cambria’s Farmer’s Market on Friday, and bring home your bounty to prepare in the thoughtfully appointed kitchen. There are two queen bedrooms, and a separate full bath for each one. The master’s bath is ‘en suite'. Miles of walking trails just outside of your front door. Walk to the town of San Simeon to visit restaurants and shops. The Elephant Seal Sanctuary, the Hearst Castle, Wm. Randolf Hearst State Beach, and Cambria are all a short drive away. Lots of exploring to do, or just relax in the peace and quiet. Come enjoy our cottage by the Sea and fell your stress disappear!

Location was phenomenal! Quick easy walk to quiet beach and hike along the cliffs! Lovely fireplace and deck! Our only minor "complaints" were the loft bed was hard as a rock and unusable, and the kitchen needs more light, a decent can opener, a new sponge upon arrival and more plates (only 5 and 4 of us). Minor inconveniences that did not take much away from our experience, just suggestions for management. We'd love to return!

Property was welcoming to pets. Had a very nice ocean view. Upon check-in to rental found property had a strong pet smell. We encountered several ticks inside the home during our visit. Plus, the television would not turn on. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Some improvements that could be made to help with issues mentioned above, install hardwood floors to eliminate pet odors and tick issue.

Easter weekend in San Simeon

Wonderful location. Peaceful with beautiful views of the ocean. We had the whole beach to ourselves. A quick drive to Cambria for great restaurants. Plenty of room to relax in the house. House was clean and well appointed with amenities.

Relaxing & Beautiful Location

The condo is in a very nice location. It is attached to a second condo, but that was not a problem at all. This was the 2nd property in from the beach. Part of the view is obstructed by a two-story rental, but there is plenty of open space to see the ocean. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen had all of the basics we needed. My only slight complaint is that the management company does not reply to my message via the VRBO app. However, if you call, they do answer. My adult son and I had a very relaxing time there. We were glad to be able to bring our dog with us as well.

Great Getaway

Frequent visitor

This is the 4th time that we have stayed at this property, spread over several years. Location is perfect, whether we want to walk the few steps to the beach, drive into Paso Robles for wine tasting, or visit Cambria just down the road. It's not fancy, but it is well maintained and very nice. Love that we can bring the dog, and they even provide separate dog towels and their is a small hose on the side of the house for post-beach dog activities.

Nice ocean view with private dog beach access

This is a nice property and would most likely have received 4 or 5 stars except for a problem. Scenic Coast Property mangement did respond promptly and appropriately to the issue after it was identified. There is a nice deck with ocean view and a trail to the private beach that allows dogs as does the property. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and eating implements. The washer and dryer and dishwasher are great and work well and supplies are provided for both. Unfortunately the home has shag carpet in the main room and bedrooms and this contributed to the problem we had that should have been identified prior to our stay. The house had a severe flea infestatation and even though treated while right away, it was not a complete eradicatilon and Idid get many flea bites. I am allergic to fleas and they LOVE me. Our family had such a wonderful time! This cute townhouse/condo was perfect for our family of four, plus one 4-legged family member. Easy access to a beautiful beach, incredible ocean view, comfortable beds, and well appointed kitchen. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you for opening your home to us!

Health Hazard- Black Mold and Mildew Throughout the House!

My family and I were meant to stay for 7 nights- we only stayed 3. We started noticing by day 3 that every time we got back to the house we would all start coughing badly, including our 10 month old child most of the night. The coughing would only occur when we were in the house. When we started looking for the cause we found: - Black mold by in almost all the windows - Black mold seeping through the paint in the loft - The fans in BOTH bathrooms were not working (an issue raised by another guest 2 months ago), which only exacerbated the mildew - Humidity throughout the house was so bad that when we laid towels down on the carpet at night, in the morning they were incredibly humid Besides the mold, there were also some more issues with the state of the property: - The BBQ was horribly rusted and corroded due to the sea water. All the dials have turned green and the igniter no longer works. It didn't feel safe using it to cook our food. -No lock on the living room sliding door. Instead, they provide you a stick for you to use as a security measure. - Kitchen not stocked with the basics- no coffee, no salt, some "clean" glasses stained with lipstick - Popcorn kernels and dirty napkins under the couches This property is in a gorgeous location. Yes, the view was partially obstructed but the view to the ocean is still great. The property is in a desperate need of a deep cleaning and repair. There is no excuse for so much black mold and I regret having my family stay here.

Returning for relaxation & coastal beauty

My spouse and I spent a couple nights here 15+ years ago for a getaway wine tasting trip (before having children) . We returned for 3-nights with our teenagers for a relaxing few days to wander along the beaches, hike, visit the elephant seals, and meander through Cambria's shops. It was once again a wonderful getaway.

This property was absolutely beautiful. The home is impeccably clean. The beds are extremely comfortable; the fireplace is so romantic. The kitchen is well stocked
 we brought way too much. Coffee on the deck for sunrise and wine đŸ· for sunset. Words cannot describe. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in our golden years. We will be back and highly recommend

We want to keep this one a secret

The neighbors on the attached property are wonderful. The location is perfect, and the small accommodations are perfect for 2 or 4 people. Short drive to Paso wineries, Morro Beach and even shorter drive to some great restaurants (we recommend Robin's) in Cambria. Our 2nd stay at this property, and we will definitely be returning.

Beautiful Place!

We had a great time this week at 9111 Balboa. It was comfortable 
 like our buddy went away for a week and let us use the place. Like someone cares more than ‘it’s just a rental.’ WHAT WE LOVED: Gas fireplace, comfy linens on made beds, decent towels, nearly new pots and pans, nice knives and flatwear, sweet deck and furniture, great view, very well stocked kitchen, doggie things (including vet magnet). We only had to turn wi-fi on and off once. Good hot water supply. Safety thing: There is beach access but the trail includes steep stairs that require some agility. Other Feedback: Pre-stay: the VRBO Rental description is VERY out of date and messages I left there were ignored. It was very nerve wracking to have payments due with no way to pay (Scenic Coast Rentals).
