Sunspot is one of the largest private lodges on Schweitzer Mountain and features 5 suites, four sleeping lofts, a Peloton studio, a dedicated spa room with infrared sauna and hot tub, and a completely remodeled kitchen. Sunspot is within walking distance to the Schweitzer Resort for winter or summer activities but optimized for guests seeking privacy and isolation with a dedicated office space, ensuite bathrooms in all bedrooms, and a ski locker.

Sunspot is designed to maximize comfort and convenience for a family gathering - a fully stocked kitchen with luxury appliances and table settings for 18, a private master retreat with a Peloton and dedicated work from home space, and 4 two-story secondary suites with ensuite bathrooms spread across 5 floors and over 3800 square feet. We have also installed an 8 person hot tub and sauna in a dedicated spa room on the first floor of the lodge.

Sunspot is arranged to provide an optimal experience for large families, multi-generational gatherings, or a group of friends. The lodge includes a large dressing and equipment room on the first floor, designed with both adults and children in mind, to make suiting up for a day of skiing or biking easy and enjoyable. Sunspot includes a specialized laundry area with a new washer and dryer offering the latest technology to help keep your active wear in top condition for the trip.

On the main floor, the lodge has a completely remodeled kitchen equipped with luxury appliances and stocked with 24 place settings and enough pots, pans and kitchen utensils to prepare any meal. The dining room has two seating areas to accommodate groups of various sizes for formal or informal meals and a separate bar area near the main fireplace to unwind in the evening.

The main level master suite has lofted wood ceilings, its own fireplace, and dedicated work from home and exercise spaces to allow guests to maintain their work or workout routines in a comfortable and tranquil environment. A Peloton bike and yoga mats are provided for guests to use while looking out over the ridges of Schweitzer Mountain. The master suite also features a jetted tub and walk in shower.

The top floors of the lodge have four two-story bedroom suites, each with its own full bath and a loft sleeping area for the little ones. Three upstairs suites are equipped with new smart TVs , allowing guests to stream their favorite content throughout the house, and wet bars with small refrigerators, sinks, and microwaves. Loft sleeping areas are accessed via ladders and have full sized beds.

Sunspot uses an entirely virtual and contactless system - remote check-in, electronic locks for guest access, and seamless transactions. 

Sunspot is located in a quiet neighborhood just outside the hustle of Schweitzer Mountain Resort - the perfect location for a large family or gathering of friends to enjoy the best of Schweitzer Mountain from their own private retreat. Sunspot is serviced by the Selkirk Recreation District shuttle service on weekends and holiday weeks, with concierge service directly from our door to the resort. Please confirm the shuttle schedule for the dates of your stay with Selkirk Recreational District.  Travel to the Village is approximately 2 minutes by shuttle or car.. 

We have ample parking for multiple families, with space for all of your mountain equipment inside the lodges' private ski locker and equipment room. We highly recommend a capable 4x4 vehicle to access Schweitzer Mountain and the Sunspot lodge during the winter months, as the mountain has steep roads with sharp turns - powder days are common and we want our guests to make the most of them by getting out on the slopes as quickly and safely as possible.

Schweitzer Resort is located 20 minutes up the mountain from the town of Sandpoint and the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.
