You've earned this vacation, and you couldn't have chosen a sweeter spot than this family- and dog-friendly waterfront retreat on Estes Lake. Outside, you'll find lots of comfortable spaces for enjoying the lovely lake views – start the day with coffee on the waterfront deck or the brick patio down below. Take your time – you're on vacation. When you get hungry, head inside to make some breakfast. Windows throughout offer the same gorgeous view, and the open, bright space creates a feeling of togetherness. The full, well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to whip up a meal, and you can dine together at the window-front table for six.

Now it's time to explore, and no matter what time of year you visit, you'll be spoiled for choice. Warm weather offers fishing, boating, hiking, local farm stands, and exploration of the nearby Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. Autumn leaf peeping in this heavily forested area can't be beat, and in the winter, bring your cold-weather gear, because ice fishing, snowmobiling, and ice skating abound. Kennebunkport is less than 15 miles away and you'll find downtown Sanford only five minutes west, with great restaurants and shops to check out. The view was fantastic- the pictures don’t lie. And the setting was so serene. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen adequately stocked. The futon cushions could be updated, but were still quite comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location on the lake was great and very peaceful! The space was perfect for what we needed. The downstairs bedrooms were a bit chilly so bring extra blankets if you get cold.

Serene family vacation

The house was comfortable, clean and a good size for a family of 5. We loved the location, waking up everyday to have tea by the lake, we roasted marshmellows in the fire pit and we saw 2 loons and heard them calling, it was a peaceful experience! We are hoping to stay there again in the future!

Spacious 3 bedroom house (2 queens, 1 double) on Estes Lake with fantastic views. We found the house very clean and comfortable. Wish we had our kayaks with us! Would definitely stay here again!

Picture perfect!

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The views are incredible. We enjoyed cooking in and sitting by the fire pit. So perfect we never left. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. We rented a kayak for the weekend and made great use of the dock. The bonus was this property is dog friendly!

House is bigger inside than it appears, with plenty of room to spread out the kids and adults. The deck and view of the water is perfection. My wife didn't want to leave and she is picky!

We had a very nice three night stay as a family of four with two small kids. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dark and roasting marshmallows on the open fire. Water was a bit cold and weedy for swimming but was able to take out the stand up paddleboard and give rides to my kids. Will definitely consider staying again.

We had a great time at the property. Kids swam (despite the water weeds), nice fire pit, great views, and only 30 minutes to the beach for a beach day. There were plenty of towels and there were linens on the beds. Beautiful view and sunsets. Air conditioning was an added bonus!

A nice cottage, not the best option for kids

This house was in a lovely location with a great view, dock and boat access. Overall the home was okay, there was dog hair all over the upholstery and the kitchen supplies was in poor condition and pretty sparse. May not be the best option if you have kids and plan to cook a lot of meals. The outdoor grill and fire pit were great and overall the check in process was easy.

Wonderful little get-away!

We rented the house to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday with a small family vacation and it was perfect! We were able to bring my mom's dog and the four of us had a wonderful and relaxing time. The house was great and is in a great location. The view is even better in person!! The only issue was that the heat was on 55 when we arrived so it took a few hours for the house to warm up - but it did no problem and the electric fireplace helped a bunch! I highly recommend staying here.

Good place if you only care about the lake and not surroundings or amenities.I want to be careful with this review, as I am sure this cabin would be lovely for some. It is rustic. The lake is gorgeous and the deck is absolutely on the lake. There’s also a fire pit area right by the lake. The surrounding area is very rural. There is no cute town to shop or cute place to get ice cream. There are very real people living very real lives in the area. If you are a minority or gay you may not feel all that welcomed.

An incredible stay at this beautiful lakefront house. The property was spotless, well-maintained, and is located both on a quiet street and on a peaceful cove on the lake. The spot is stunning - ducks and loons in the water right in front of the house. There is plenty of space for the whole family to spread out, relax and enjoy.Inside the house is super comfortable and functional - felt like we were visiting friends and not at a rental. It is clear that much care has been taken to make guests feel at home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need (…and we cook!). Communication with the host was excellent throughout our stay, they are SUPER nice! Absolutely no complaints during our trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable retreat by the lake. Will not hesitate to book again!

Oh My, What a View!

We brought family, visiting from Oklahoma, to Maine for the Fall Colors and we were so thrilled with the view of the lake from the entire upper floor! The colors reflected off the water making for awesome pictures! The beds were only full size but were comfortable. It was perfect for the two couples with bedrooms on the upper and lower floors with two bathrooms as well. The location was perfect for taking day trips to the beach and hike the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stand would recommend!!

Beautiful house with geat amenities

They have really thought of everything! It's a lovely house with great new-looking furnishings. But beware of goose poop outdoors. Vacasa checked in with us, so we mentioned it and they came to clean it up right away, but it is a problem (the geese came back the next day). Maybe it was just the time of year we were there and maybe it doesn't happen in the middle of summer or fall? Also, the water is filled with vegetation, so not the best for swimming. Boating or floating would be excellent. The dock and deck were great with great views. Everything you would want for a fun vacaation.
