This comfortable three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a private pool is located in Atenas, known for having “the best climate in the world.”

Recently, Casa del Sol has been freshly painted in a warm, sunny yellow. Just as its name suggests, it gives the home an even brighter, more cheerful, and more welcoming tropical feel.

Its perfect location, only 30 minutes from the International Airport, 1 hour from the Pacific beaches, and centrally positioned near Costa Rica’s main attractions, makes Casa del Sol an ideal vacation getaway. The center of this charming town is just a 10-minute drive away, where you’ll find a great selection of restaurants, bakeries, a weekly farmers’ market, and well-stocked grocery stores.

Casa del Sol comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests. The home features a colorful tropical style, a spacious open floor plan, and spectacular high vaulted wooden ceilings. Large glass windows offer beautiful views from every angle, and the fully equipped kitchen includes a gas stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, blender, and ample cabinet space.

The main suite is spacious and offers stunning mountain views overlooking mature tropical trees, often visited by birds such as toucans and motmots. The two guest bedrooms share a second bathroom.

The home combines vibrant colors, Costa Rican art, and a relaxed tropical atmosphere, making it perfect for a well-deserved vacation.

The crystal-clear pool is just steps away and ideally positioned to enjoy sunlight throughout the day, naturally warming the water to a comfortable temperature for swimming and relaxing. Two covered patios: essential in Atenas, allow you to enjoy outdoor living year-round.

Lush tropical gardens surround the house, with fruit trees such as mango, banana, orange, and tangerine. Exploring the garden feels like a walk in the park—pick fresh fruit and start your day with a tropical breakfast on the patio.

The home is truly a bird lover’s paradise, with views over the valley, bird-rich trees, and nearby hills and mountains. The home is located in a quiet cul-de-sac with only one neighboring house across the street.

Our property managers, Klaas and Sandra de Graaf, a multilingual couple (English, Dutch, and Spanish) from the Netherlands, will warmly welcome you and ensure you have a wonderful stay. They can arrange grocery pre-stocking or a freshly prepared home-cooked meal upon arrival.

As an additional service, we offer airport pick-up and drop-off (for a fee) to make your arrival and departure as smooth as possible. We also assist with car rentals and offer a wide range of tours throughout Costa Rica, including visits to Poás and Arenal Volcanoes, La Paz Waterfall Gardens, catamaran tours, coffee farms, zip-lining, ATV adventures, white-water rafting, horseback riding, surfing, and more.

Nice location at the end of a residential street. Clean pool, large windows with a good view. Good climate, warm during the day and cool at night.Kitchen was superb. The master bathroom does not have a door, however we were ok with that minor issue. The host was awesome especially when I lost phone service on my arrival day and they waited hours for me to respond.

Two Weeks at Casa Del Sol

Great place in a great location. The views are spectacular. I would stay there again. Hosts were also very responsive and helpful. A knife sharpener would be good to have for the kitchen, as knives were extremely dull; glad I brought my Buck knife. A steamer basket would also be useful for those who prefer to steam the fine produce available.

Perfect House!!!

We rented the house for my wife, myself and our two kids. The views are stunning and the flora and fauna are incredible. We loved the plants all around the yard and were able to see beautiful toucans and other birds and animals. It was a perfect stay for us. Thank you! We hope to be back soon.

Relaxing getaway

What a great getaway! My husband and I really enjoyed the beautiful view and comfort of the house. The kitchen was fully appointed (salad spinner! wax paper!) so I was able to prepare meals with ease. Our dogs had fun in the spacious yard, but the smaller one figured out that she could squeeze through the front gate so we had to keep her tethered. The property managers were extremely prompt and responsive. Great vacation house!

Casa del sol

We stayed for a second time in this lovely property for two weeks (two retired couples in our 70's). The house has a lovely view, is spacious, and has comfortable furnishings and beds. This is a great place for bird watchers who want privacy and quiet surroundings. The hosts were responsive to our requests for help with minor issues and we look forward to renting from them again. I recommend this property for its tranquility, covered patio near the pool, and its spaciousness. It is a short drive from Atenas which has a great Coope super mercado which makes self-catering a breeze.

having horses, cows, chickens and goats for neighbors was a delight. it was very quiet and peaceful. swimming in the small pools cool waters was great. loved lounging around the pool. marion met us at the grocery store and was so patient with two weary travelers trying to get their act together. we appreciated the pineapple and banans and coffee that she left for us at the house.

Beautiful Vistas

We really enjoyed our stay in Casa del Sol. We stayed for six weeks in March/April 2025. Klaas and Sandra, the property managers, made the check-in and check-out seamless. Isabel was friendly and very through; she keeps the inside of the house clean and organized. The pool cleaning crew, Wendy and Erick were great, and kind enough to let us practice our Spanish with them. Hats off to Alfonso and his gardening team. They do an impeccable job of maintain the gardens; the gardens are a true highlight of the property. The house is large and has a very convenient lay-out. She shows her age but still maintains her charm. The vistas are breathtaking. The beds are comfortable! Bonuses for us were having a gas stove, a bbq, and a deep pool – deep enough for cannonballs! The location is convenient being between Atenas and Grecia with easy access to the main highway Ruta 1. We highly recommend Casa del Sol! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Tucked Away Little Secret

The property is wonderful! Marian and Aad were extremely attentive to a small hiccup I experienced with the wifi and it was remedied immediately. Other than that, great place. It's spacious, clean, private, and very well managed. Kitchen supplies were abundant and the washer/dryer worked like magic. We're already booked for a week later this year! Don't miss out on this hidden gem. If it's your first time to Atenas, don't be fooled by the proximity of the property to town as it appears on a map. It's only about five minutes away. Absolutely fabulous!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here! Pictures don't even describe how lovely this home is! We spent 2 full weeks, and wanted our trip to be about relaxing. With the exception of going to Ecotermales hot springs (which I also highly recommend), we simply enjoyed the house, pool, and views! Our "big" outings were walks in the towns, the feria and grocery store in Atenas -- oh, and eating out twice (Pequena Palonia and Park Place). The house and surroundings were all we needed for the relaxing trip we wanted! Aad and Marian and their team were wonderful! Very responsive to requests and questions. This was our 2nd trip to the area where they were the house managers, and we decided we won't go back without making sure we find a property that they manage! The only downside for the trip was having to leave! Can't wait to get to move there someday!

Beautiful House, Excellent Location, Wonderful Property Managers

This lovely house near Atenas was perfect for our 5-night stay in late January. The building and property were well maintained and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and all furnishing were tasteful and comfortable. The windows let in cooling breezes, so we were comfortable without AC. The washer and dryer worked fine and there was even laundry detergent supplied. A clothes line also came in handy. The views are gorgeous, and we enjoyed watching birds on both sides of the house, where there are comfortable places to sit and to dine outside, in addition to plenty of spaces to relax and dine inside. There was almost absolute privacy and quiet here, with only a few cows and goats singing :) in the farm next door (no offensive manure smells either!). The pool was perfect for relaxing and swimming little, leisurely laps. The coop in Atenas was a great place to shop, and there are some good restaurants nearby as well. Marian was an excellent host and property manager: helpful, cheerful, and friendly but also very respectful of our privacy. I really can't think of anything negative to say about the place. If we go back to Costa Rica, we will probably stay here again, or perhaps at one of their other properties.

Fantastic Property and Tours!

It was our first time traveling outside the US for me and my learning disabled teenager, and we don't speak Spanish, so we probably needed more help than usual, but this host was happy to arrange for everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The home was beautiful and immaculately maintained. The swimming pool was sparkling clean and a refreshing place to unwind in the afternoon. The views out the large picture windows were pure Costa Rica, complete with a pair of toucans that visited every day and a lawn iguana. We went on several tours with Bunki Tours during our two week stay, including a trip to the Basilica in Cartago, the Poas volcano, Isla Tortuga catamaran tour, La Paz waterfall gardens, and monkey mangrove tour. Marian, Aad and Sandra went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and fun in so many thoughtful ways it is impossible to list them all: booking our volcano visit at the time most likely to be clear (it was!), doing the driving and navigating to the tour locations, taking detours so we could see more of the country, helping my son step by step on the natural staircases down to the waterfalls, carrying our rain gear, running ahead to get the car so we didn't have to walk extra steps, even booking our COVID tests and providing transportation to the local lab to get them done. As the mom who is used to having to do it all and think of everything herself, this support was so much appreciated and made for a lovely and memorable vacation!

Green Oasis

We lived at this property for a month and a half; it proved a perfect size for a couple both inside and outside the house as surrounded by a well-planned and well-kept garden. There was always at least one plant or shrub in bloom, and since the house sits atop a small hill overlooking a treed valley you were immersed in various shades of green and treated to a daily abundance of birds. The bright lights of the encroaching township have not reached the property yet, so even the nights were a treat while sitting at the outdoor table to enjoy a starry-lit sky. We particularly appreciated the full-size pool - morning, noon and night. The house is older and the kitchen and bathrooms could use an update, but this did not deter our enjoyment of it, especially because the house was priced very reasonably in comparison to other newer properties in the area, and because of the thorough weekly cleanings by Isabel. The description is generally accurate save for noting that the Satellite TV is subscription-based and there is no land-line. We were in good hands with PMA - the property managers (including Marian, Sandra, Marco and Klaas) with airport pick-ups, drop-offs, a wide-range of tours available, and our initial grocery list which was stocked for our arrival. We did all of our shopping in Atenas, which is about 20 minute drive away. It was not necessary to rent a car, as we were confidently able to rely on the local taxi drivers recommended by Sandra for any trips to town, on Marco who is a professional driver for the tours, and for the rest of the team for any minor issues with the house. Thank you all for making this part of our stay in CR feel like home.

Un séjour exceptionnel

Nous avons eu le très grand bonheur d'admirer la vue magnifique tout autour de la maison et de goûter à la sérénité du lieu. Réveillés par le chant des oiseaux nous avons pleinement profité de notre location en nous installant, au gré du soleil, sur les différentes terrasses. la piscine, au retour de nos excursions, ou tôt le matin était également un plaisir. Nous recommandons cette location où rien n'a manqué pour notre confort.

Peace & serenity at Casa del Sol

The setting for Casa del Sol in Santa Eulalia is very beautiful and quiet with a nice view over the valley and surrounding hills. There are two separate outdoor living areas. On one side, you can enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine and wait for the toucans to drop by as you look out over the valley. On the other side, you have a very nice pool area. Vegetation has been well-maintained. Wildlife sightings included iguanas, blue-gray tanagers, toucans, chachalacas, and woodpeckers. The kitchen was well-equipped for two couples cooking at home for most of two weeks, and there are two dining areas. We did enjoy a couple of meals at the nearby El Jardin Restaurant. There were a couple of issues with plumbing at the house, but they were handled quickly by the management team. The bedrooms were back-to-back, but walls were soundproofed enough that it was not a problem. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

The setting is awesome

The property managers graciously allow us to do an emergency rental. A health issue kept us in CR longer than planned and management group worked to find us accommodations while I recovered. It was so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the landscaping and hillside view. Lots of outfitting in the kitchen made it easy for us to cook in. It is a very comfortable home. We really enjoyed our extended stay in CR

Beautiful Property with Fantastic Hosts

What a beautiful property to stay at. Lots of outdoor space, with a Great pool, beautiful home inside. Everything that you could possibly want. I bought a home here in Costa Rica and arrived 2 weeks before the closing so we stayed here. They even got me groceries and put them in the fridge for my arrival. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome. What a Beautiful Country. Im Staying! BUT PLEASE TAKE THEIR ADVICE ON RENTING A CAR!!! We booked online with Economy and that was a Disaster. Tried to charge us an extra $500 so we just walked out! Then we booked with Solid and what a great experience that was. )O(
