Surf Hut Charm

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens, and a Boxer) loved hanging out on the porch, walking to the beach, and riding bikes when we stayed at Moon Baby on Spring Break. It won't be a fit if you are looking for a modern, trendy beach house, but if you want a cool, laid back vibe with old school, surf hut charm, Moon Baby will be a perfect fit for you like it was for us. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great cottage

Some places are greater than the sum of their parts. This one feels like someone’s treasured home. Comfortable chairs and bed. Original thoughtful art. All the things you need without the gimmicks that don’t really work. A fenced yard that you can let your dog out in. There may be newer, more modern places but this is one of my favorites!

Moo baby was the perfect size for our family of four. We enjoyed the screened in porch in the evenings after dinner. It was a nice place to relax and unwind.

Quiet getaway

We have been visiting Grayton Beach for 15 years but this is our first time staying at Moon Baby. The house was spacious and stocked with a lot of cookware and extras like games, books and beach stuff that we haven't seen in other rentals. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning. The mosquitos were pretty bad since there is a lot of shade and you are close to the lake. Make sure you bring spray or some candles. The screen door has a slight crack so they were able to get in to the covered porch. The house is cooled with two window units: one in the main living area and one in the master bedroom. The second bedroom is smaller and did not have AC, only a ceiling fan. There are two plug in, oscillating fans that were provided that we used to help keep that room cool.

Quite Respite

We found our week at Moon Baby to be very nice -- it is a casual spot with great privacy and a lovely location in the heart of Grayton Beach. We really needed a respite and found Moon Baby to be all we'd hoped.

Enjoyed our time

Perfect for a couple with a dog. We played fetch in the fenced in yard every day. 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach, Red Bar, etc. Quiet location overall. We would definitely stay there again.

Cleanliness & Pest Issue

The house was in an excellent location and the management crew was attentive and followed up closely throughout the booking, check-in and check-out process. However, we were very underwhelmed by the cleanliness of the place when we arrived. We immediately noticed mold in the kitchen and guest bathroom ceilings that was clearly painted over. My biggest concern is that I woke up twice in the middle of the night with large cockroaches on me in bed. I saw several others in the house throughout our stay, and the place needs to have an exterminator out there before another guest checks in.
