Breakfast was average. Rooms were minuscule. Property was gorgeous. Staff was stressed and sometimes rude. I guess it’s understandable with the hoards of people.

Not as I thought

Room was small, but okay for short stay. Only 1 pillow and no AC so had to sleep with window open. Outside was very loud with people and what sounded like glass bottles being recycled for an hour after midnight. Doors and rooms were not soundproof so late check-ins, and there were many, were very loud rolling suitcases on concrete floors. Bathroom small and shower even smaller. Breakfast had minimal options. Had one small elevator for entire place. Guess place is great for those who had been roughing it on the Camino, but not at all what I got from the previous reviews.

Beautiful old monastery

Beautiful old monastery- right in the centre of the old town but also close to parking on the outskirts. Very clean. Nice Spanish style breakfast.

Enjoy a stay in a Monastery!

Great basic clean room with efficient buffet breakfast (optional) Monastery is in great shape and where else can you stay in one that has 4 feet thick stone walls? Good for peregrinos on the Camino (like us) or just a holiday

A basic stay in Santiago de Compostela

This property was formerly a seminary, and while it has been upgraded to become a hotel, it is very basic -- small shower, small bed, basic linens. The location is fabulous and the staff is very helpful -- a trade off for the spartan comfort.

I like that this hotel is very near and walkable to St. James church and square or plaza, the Benedictine monastery and church, shops, restaurants, and 30 minute walk to bus station. My only issue was the very loud tango music from 10pm to around 4AM, which I found out the next day that there was a dance practice for a competition that weekend. The bed spring was a little uncomfortable and heater was overpowered by the cold temperature in December. Breakfast was good. Stayed overnight. Location was very convenient.
