Carr House farmhouse is set on a working farm, but only minutes away from the attractions of Scarborough and only 1½ miles from the well known surfing beach at Cayton Bay, which also welcomes dog walkers throughout the year. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the large landscaped gardens with a summerhouse, apple trees and barbecue, with a perimeter fence making it ideal for both children and pets. This detached farmhouse is ideal for touring the North Yorkshire coast, from Whitby in the north to Bridlington in the south. A short journey inland takes you to the North York Moors, ’Heartbeat’ Country and Pickering for the steam railway, whilst York for its historic attractions is less than an hour away.



For activities nearby there is Dalby Forest for cycling and tree climbing, Wykeham Lakes for fishing, or the many beaches which offer the chance to just relax, sail, surf, sunbathe, paddle, and build sandcastles. Scarborough is a vibrant seaside resort with lots of family attractions, such as the waterpark, Sealife Centre and crazy golf, as well as a funfair, ice-cream parlours, amusements, and donkey rides. It also boasts superb live entertainment at the Open Air Theatre, with major acts booked each summer, and shows at the Scarborough Spa and the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre. Beach 2 miles. Shop ¾ and pub 1 mile.



There is a wheelchair ramp for the entrance door and shower stool and portable toilet assist seat for wheelchair users. These are kept in the hall cupboard and are readily available to guests should any such equipment be required.

You are welcome to exercise dogs in the large enclosed garden and along the farm tracks and public footpaths which cross the farmland.

Please note that there is a small glamping site on farm in a paddock behind a large wall and it is not visible from the accommodation.

A security deposit of £250 is payable in advance directly to the owner and will be returned a few days after departure.

A property of very high standard all on one level.

A property of very high standard all on one level. Set in its own gardens with hot tub plenty a space for children to enjoy themselves. Two large sitting rooms both with X-Large televisions with all channels. Conservatory over looks garden and hot tub. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking and dining. Great outlook over open fields yet only a five minute drive to local amenities. Certainly a place to relax and get away from it all. We would definitely return and would highly recommend property.

2 families with 7 adults, 1 toddler and 2 large dogs. From arriving to leaving we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, out of the way of everyone but only a walk away into Cayton for local shops or a 5 min drive to supermarket. Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough, Whitby and York are only a short drive away. The cottage itself was first class with more than enough room for us all, you often got lost in the house looking for the kitchen. Great time in comfortable setting, like a home from home. Tastefully decorated. Everything to hand for cooking in the kitchen, really was fully equipped even more so than my own kitchen! Great comms from the owners. No complaints. Would come again. It was an issue to be going out for the day on public transport as the farm road would be hard for our 3 year old due to the length, bumpy ness and at night there is no lighting. But this is typical if you’re on a farm anyway. We used the nearby Seamer Train Station to park up for the day to venture out, there is also a nearby park and ride to use which is a short drive.

Brilliant location well equiped and quiet. Lovely garden. Well set up. Dog friendly. Be aware garden is enclosed but due to there being 2 farm gates it's not dog proof. Not a deal breaker though we just couldn't let our blind dog sniff around without constant supervision.

Hello, this was one of the very best holiday cottages we have been to, and we’ve been to a lot. It was spacious, peaceful, spotless and disabled friendly. The garden was secure for dogs, which not all properties are even though they advertise them to be. Even though the weather was rainy we enjoyed just being in the cottage with all its excellent facilities. We would not hesitate to book again. The man who looked after the hot tub was lovely, he came every day to check the water in the hot tub in a very discrete manner. He was very friendly and helpful when required. On the whole I would award this property 10/10

Very nice place.

Very nice place. Lived up to previous reviews. Peaceful but very easy access to local amenities. Amazing range of butterflies in garden thanks to some buddleia plants. Comfortable rooms. Kitchen easy to use. We would certainly go there again. One note the enclosed garden would not stop a dog getting out.
