There's a restaurant on site, as well as a snack bar/deli. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Public spaces have free WiFi. Grand Villa Heights also features a terrace, a garden, and a picnic area. Free self parking is available.
A superb hotel, the views are phenomenal, staff are friendly and approachable. Lots of choice for food, buffet breakfast and an extensive menu for other meals. The room was clean and well stocked.
Excellent stay. Stunning views with a beautiful garden surround the property, which can compensate for everything, e.g. slightly old facilities. The location is conveniently closer to Whitby and Scarborough within 30 30-minute drive. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The bedrooms were advertised as âexquisiteâ but they werenât even acceptable. The bedroom we were intially offered had holes in the wall, had damp on the ceiling, beard trimmings on the dressing table, dirty stained carpet, broken bath panel, wallpaper peeling off and smelt very musty.
We couldnât stay in the room in the condition it was so left 45 minutes after checking in.
Despite contacting the hotel twice, we have not had a reply or acknowledgment.
Considering the generally Good reviews for this hotel, I was shocked at the condition of the rooms. Please consider staying at this hotel very carefully before committing. The only saving grace was the lovely receptionist.
A great place to stay if you're walking or cycling in the area and need a base. I was satisfied with the accommodation for the price and included breakfast. Room we got was at the back, very dated, a bit noisy from the boiler units outside and furniture was uncomfortable. Breakfast was OK.
This hotel has so much amazing history. Really find it hard to believe that the current owners need to rename it ! And such an inappropriate name too.
The bedroom are very tired.
The bedrooms need a massive overhaul and bringing tastefully uptodate.
The garden nearest the hotel are ok but the gardens and paths down to the 'castle' like area need attention as they could be beautiful.
This hotel has the potential to be amazing just hope owners make the best of it.
The staff were all very pleasant. Service was good. Drinks were expensive. Breakfast was very good.
After a long days walk on the Cleveland Way, we went down for dinner at 7pm, our food was served at 8:45pm. They had a big table booked in and were understaffed. We were ignored and were left sitting there for nearly 2 hours. My worst restaurant experience as far as service goes - ever! When it finally arrived the food was good. We were quite simply the unimportant guestsâŠ
I LOVED this hotel. Iâm a world touring cyclist and I love quiet and remote. This hotel was FANTASTIC.
Idyllic setting high above the bay. Beautiful grounds. Lovely gardens. Stunning.
The hotel just had a makeover and it looks beautiful!
My room overlooked the seaâclean and comfortable and a great bathtub!
Breakfast was plentiful and high quality.
A dreamy stop as I pedal the UK.
Many, many thanks!
This was out third visit here but first under new ownership. Now more of a wedding venue, including the panoramic restaurant which used to be a highlight. New dining room small and dark with uncomfortable benches to sit on so we only ate breakfast there and went out for our other meals. Building work ongoing and our room overlooked a builder's area so quite noisy and the corridor and overhead was noisy at night. The location of the hotel is fabulous as always and the gardens have been revamped but we won't be returning now.
Stayed years ago and sadly not the place it used to be. Room was clean albeit it needed a bit of attention to detail, evening meal was quite expensive for what we had, seem to be the guy behind the bar was doing most of the serving and the breakfast was buffet style and was pretty basic. Got woken up by some noise from a joiner fixing a door before 7am. On check out at 9am we hoped to have a walk around the grounds only to be told we couldnât as there was a wedding on later! I think this hotel is gearing up to be a wedding venue but it really needs to improve on various aspects to guests staying at the hotel. Sadly wonât be returning.
Because of the fab views of Robin Hoods bay. I took a punt and booked into this old hotel. From walking through the door I was blown away by how the communal areas have been modernised. Even though the staff were obviously busy, I suggest they quickly learn to be a little friendlier/ warm to guests (they weren't bad, just not engaging).
Unique location with stunning views on Robin Hoods bay. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed large and very comfortable. The staff very friendly and dinner was varied and very good quality
