Centralized location
We really enjoyed staying at the ranch. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen easy to use and well stocked. Great living room for sitting around and chatting. It was nice of the owner to organize the northern lights that our first night there lol. Great communication.

Great getaway
One of the most relaxing vacation experiences I’ve had in a while. My partner and I had an amazing time here and were able to enjoy the area for its beauty. We loved the stargazing and rock hounding area about 3 miles down the road.

Secluded and beautiful
The property was amazing. It was very private and secluded. The moon rising and setting blew me away! As did the sun rising and setting! The cabin was clean and well appointed. Very spacious and comfortable. The grounds were lovely to walk around and we enjoyed our neighbors (the cattle!). Not too far for day trips to The Badlands and Wall. The hosts left a really helpful booklet at the ranch with tips on what to see and where to go and they were spot on! There's also a booklet describing the history of the ranch and how it came to be. The front porch was my favorite place to sit and relax in between day trips. Rock hounding down the road was a lot of fun and the view is incredible.

The Ranch
What a wonderful place to stay. Karl was very helpful in answering all our questions and providing anything we needed. The quietness of the ranch was a real treat. All we heard were the cows mooing. We loved the solitude, and enjoyed watching the sunsets. We cooked all our meals and found that we had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

Peaceful ranch!
Amazing, peaceful ranch to get away from it all. Close to badlands and not far from Black Hills. Great homebase to hit the sights by day and relax in peace at night. The ranch had all we needed, owners had great suggestions, and they were quick to respond with questions.

Fantastic peaceful place
Fantastic experience staying here. Exceeded expectations. It is as good as the pics make it look - even better. House is fully equipped with things you might need to live on the ranch in case you forget anything, and the kitchen has all the tools you would need to cook a family meal. It really feels like a home, you can tell the owners care about the place. The furniture is very comfortable, and everything was clean. We lucked out with the weather, had clear skies and spent a night watching thunderstorms far off on the horizon as the sun set and the stars came out. Front and back porches were great. Its very remote and secluded. As long as thats what you’re looking for you wont be disappointed. Its 30+ miles to get to the main part of the Badlands Natl Park - as close as you can get without staying at a motel or campground in Wall - but right nearby are Sheep Mtn Table and the Indian Creek wilderness which actually were our favorite spots - both very quiet if you want to get away from crowds on the park road. It’s also closer to the Black Hills. A few things: the kitchen knife was unusably dull (could barely cut chicken) and we couldn’t get the gas oven lit, which might be user error (burners worked fine). Bring your own knife if you like to cook. Would have appreciated a head up about the water so I could buy some gallons - owners provided a tank and bottled water but we luckily brought our own 5gal jug that we filled at the park visitor center a couple times.

If you truly want a "getaway", this is the best place ever
I was looking for some solitude and a central location to explore the area. This was it! It was easy to take day trips to both the Badlands and to the Custer State Park area. The place was perfectly furnished and clean (which isn't always true when you look for a place in the country.) And although I was there on my own, it would be a fun and efficient place for a family vacation. AND, the views in every direction are amazing.

We loved this cozy cabin. All the amenities we needed, quiet, clean, and a beautiful setting. Best VRBO experience we have ever had. Good location to do both the Badlands and Black Hills.
