Surrounded by some of Northern Norway's most magnificent coastal landscapes, with the majestic mountain range of Okshornan, this holiday cottage is situated in the small town of Ersfjord on the west side of the island Senja. The house lies 100 m from the sea with the most spectacular view. It is the perfect spot for sport fishers and nature lovers. Erfjorden and the open ocean outside is famous for being rich with fish. In recent years, the halibut stocks have been growing in this area, and many sport fishers have experienced catching big halibut. NB! If you wish to book the boat, you need to request it in advance! A 20 ft Quicksilver Capture 2014-model boat, with closed cabin, 100 hp motor, map plotter, gps, sonar and 4 rod holders, lies in dock 1 km from the house. The boat fits 6 people at the most, and has an extra 4 hp motor. In the annex of the house there is a fish cleaning table, lights and running water, and fishing tools can be stored here. You can catch flounder with a fishing rod from shore. There are also fishing lakes in the area. With the great, shallow, sandy beach right by the house, this holiday home is suitable for families. The area is sunny and the ocean air is refreshing. Many hiking possibilities along the shore and in the mountains. This spot is also a great starting point for road trips around Senja, where the fishing villages lies along the island's west side. Visit the old fishing village Mefjordvær, with its impressive breakwater that has been damaged by massive waves on stormy days. From Botnhamn, take the ferry across to Kvaløya and the City of the Arctic Sea, Tromsø, with many sights, restaurants and shops. If you follow the mainland road back to Senja, visit the Polarzoo with many arctic animals like wolves, bears, lynx, etc. From the fishing village Gryllefjord, take the ferry to Andenes to experience whale safari by boat. The house has internet. 4 km to Senjahopen and grocery store. Baby cradle and high chair for children is available.
