Disappointed with our stay at Shilla Stay Samsung. We stayed there previously a couple of years ago and enjoyed it enough to stay again. Unfortunately this time was much worse.
When we checked in, the first room we were given had a very heavy cigarette smell, to the point it was incredible the cleaning crew even allowed the room to be given to a guest. We were then switched to a different room that was more acceptable.
Unfortunately, the next day this second room also developed an issue with sewage smell permeating from the bathroom. We were then transferred to a THIRD room, which thankfully had no issues with smells from that point.
Sadly, the people next door in this new room were very loud, talking and laughing until past 2am into the night. Not exactly Shilla’s fault, but when I called to complain, the front desk called back to say the guests next door were not answering their door when knocked, and that there was nothing more they could do besides offer us ear plugs.
It is honestly appalling that they would allow guests to continue to bother other guests despite knowing there was a problem.
It is sad, because my wife and I had a great stay there previously, but the service and cleanliness has gotten much worse.
