Family Getaway

Cabin was perfect size, had everything we needed, very comfortable. Only drawback was it was a little further away from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg than we thought.

Family vacation 2020

Our family had a great stay at this cabin. Only about a half hour from the Smokey mountains and Gatlinburg. Enjoyed having our boat and spending time in Douglas lake as well.

Nice cabin for winter getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this quiet, cozy cabin. Our kids enjoyed the play space upstairs in the loft and the hot tub. We even got to see some snow! The owner was very responsive and helpful when we had questions about the property.

Very nice cabin, Clean, but fireplace would not ignite after first night, and heat would not run continually, Had to keep Turing it on, other than those things, this place was as advertised. I recommend highly.

Very nice and Private, just as described!

Loved the cabin, it was very nice, just as described. Very clean and well furnished. The only downside was distance from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge mainly because of the very curvy, narrow roads to get to the cabin. I'm also thankful we didn't meet a vehicle on the road the cabin was on but we got used to all of this and the quiet, private space was pleasant.

Beautiful cabin and great place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Fox Ridge Retreat. It is a beautiful cabin with everything a family needs. We loved having the hot tub and fireplace! It is set in a beautiful location, set away from town. But it is also not too bad of a drive into all the attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We visited in the winter, so we didn't get to see the lake or take advantage of the pool. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond with the couple questions we had. We would definitely return again!

Definitely recommend!

Spent the weekend at the cabin with my spouse and closest friends for my birthday. We had an absolute blast! The host left me a birthday card which was so nice! The cabin was clean, there were complimentary toiletries which was unexpected. They had a smart tv which was very convenient & board games to enjoy. The only downfall is that we wished the hot tub was bigger, & had slightly more privacy. But overall it was amazing!

Beautiful Cabin

Loved the cabin. It was very beautiful. No complaints with the cabin itself at all. The pool was closed and I was only notified after it was too late to cancel the booking, so I was a little upset about that due to having children and all of the other pools in Gatlingburg and pigeon forge was open. The pool and the lake were also not anywhere close to the cabin you had to drive a distance to get to it. Overall it was nice. The owners were great.

Awesome cabin

The pictures online don't do this cabin justice. Upon arrival it was super clean & organized. The sunsets off the back porch in the hot tub were amazing! The log cabin feel inside was beautiful. The area is very peaceful and quiet, which is a pleasant change living in the suburbs of Philadelphia where it's always noisy! The drive to all the attractions this area has to offer is about 30-40 min away with great views of the rustic countryside on the way. We look forward to revisiting the Smokey Mountains next summer which we have done the past few years! Thanks to the Fox family for sharing their beautiful cabin with my family & the wonderful memories we made there! Diana Parris

Great cabin for a weekend away.

Rented this cabin for two days with my bestie to celebrate her birthday. We were concerned that we wouldn't be able to make it up with road closures. Property owner suggested alternative route that would be easier. Close enough to the town but remote enough to feel secluded. Well decorated and more space than we needed. Nice comfy beds, full size bathrooms, and wrap around porch. Hot tub was great to relax and look at the stars. Kitchen has basic cookware and utensils. Dishwasher seems to be not working properly as the dishes were not cleaned to my standards. We would love to rent again for another trip.

It had potential but fell REALLY short.

Check in 4pm. Finally-6:30pm I was able to reach the owner after 3msgs, 2calls & calling the ER # who told me there was an error. They called another cleaner and we finally got into the house at 9:45pm. Needless to say, there was no welcome basket and not restocked (5 coffee pods total). Trash was overflowing outside & the hot tub was green & smelled like a pond. I told them we didn't have enough towels & was assured we would get more. We got back that night and there was toilet paper and paper towels, but no bath towels. Owner told me I should do laundry. Really?! We decided we had to, however, there was only an empty detergent bottle. Family of 6, for 4 days had 6 small/thin (not luxurious as advertised) towels, 3 standard hand towels, and 7 wash clothes. 3 new/unwashed towels arrived day 3 of 4 and we couldn't wash them. I asked the morning of day 2 for ice or ice trays. Day 3 of 4, we got ice trays. Hot tub was cleaned day 2, (as a hot tub owner-no way we were getting in it for at least 24 hours after that cleaning.) Toiletries are advertised - my advice BRING YOUR OWN. They had watered down already cheap brands. The sheets/ beds were nicest part. They refunded 1 night and 1st meal. We still sorely overpaid. Only reason we didn't leave-we could not get a hotel. I only wish I could attach pics. I expect owner to dispute this based on other replies to lower reviews. My advice, take heed. Low reviews are 99% accurate. We do not recommend this property.

Mountain Getaway

We've stayed in another cabin at the Douglas Lake resort before. We knew we liked the area and booked this cabin because it looked larger than the previous one we'd stayed in. We loved the fact we were at the end of the road (other than a gated off property, however, we never saw anyone coming or going from that property). Privacy was awesome. We were extremely pleased with the size and the layout of the cabin. It also had security cameras which made it nice. A few issues that decreased the rating to an Overall 4. The mattresses feel a little old and worn. One toilet didn’t flush great, I would have to go behind my littlest daughter and hold the handle to make sure it actually flushed. The other downstairs toilet constantly ran the entire time we were at the cabin. The largest stove eye didn't work at all despite review comments that it had been repaired. The upstairs loft floor was a bit squeaky, but really wasn't a big deal. As others said the water didn't very warm on our first night, then the second night it was so hot I had to add cold water from the kitchen to bath my kids because I couldn't get the tub faucet to produce cold water.....even on the coldest setting. The third night, after being at Ober Gatlinburg all day in the heat and being ready to clean up, the water in the entire cabin would no longer get hot. We contacted Bill at 8:20pm and he advised the maintenance person would fix it the next day, so in order to bath our kids we boiled water (3 pots on the 3 working stove eyes 4 different times) so they could get cleaned up. My wife and I were forced to take cold showers so we could get cleaned up after a long hot day of activities. I understand it was 8:20pm when I called, and getting someone out to fix it at that time could have been an issue. I feel Bill should have at least offered to address the issue more promptly or offered some sort of discount, but he didn't even offer. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this cabin to anyone, just note the issues I and many others have noted and be prepared.

Great view, beautiful cabin!

We loved this place! Property is pretty secluded but neighbors aren't too far! Beautiful views! Beautiful cabin! Check in was super easy and we had a great time!! Only small issue we had is the fireplace ran out of gas, but there is central heat! Only a few minutes from dollar general and other convenient stores and grocery stores! Overall we had a great time!!

Comfortable getaway

An effortless check-in, along with a clean cabin and warmed-up hot tub made our arrival that much more enjoyable. The accommodations were extremely comfortable, but the wrap around porch made us want to stay outside!
