    The hotel is well located for exhibition in Hongqiao, but the neighborhood is surrounded by hotels, business buildings, not too much for entertainment or shopping centers.

    Eight nights in Shanghai

    Overall the hotel wasn't bad. The rooms were not the cleanest. The first room they put me in was terrible. Mold covered the walls of the bathroom which was very dated. Hair in the bed. Asked to be moved and they were very gracious and accomodating but moved me to a smoking room when I had requested no smoking. It was such an improvement over the mold covered room I went with it and didn't complain. The rate for the rooom was okay but they need to spend some time with bleach and a brush on those bathrooms.

    Very much worth the money. Location is not great and my room seems to not have been renovated for a while, but considering the price it is a good deal.

    Reception clearks' working quality is too low. At both check-in and check-out, I pointed out mistakes they made, every staff said "I did not this, I dont know, it is no problem" . . . . .? it is no-star hotel for me, never again.

    Please not so much noice from very loud music. Everywhere music is terrible for the ears. loud music in the lobby in the evening, loud music from the korean restaurant and also music in the doorways. The bim bim loud from the elevator please remove as not necessary. Please be more alert for people to respect your no smoking signs. Japanese restaurant was very low in rate. This restaurant was a disappoint ment. I went to Japanese restaurant at the next door hotel, the Rainbow hotel and this food was so good and the service top service.

    Good value hotel

    Visiting Shanghai Expo. Took executive floor option which is worth the extra when you consider personal check in and out services, free drinks each evening in the exec lounge etc. Hotel is well placed in the Honngqiao district near many restaurants and local transport. A short taxi ride to the Expo, French Concession and Shanghai down-town. Hotel refurbishment is complete and this is a good value establishment which is run smoothly and efficiently. Parkson Shopping district is a short walk and visitors should take a quick taxi to Hongmei Lu Food Street and Pearl Market. Both are together and hotel staff will translate to taxi driver

    Galaxy Hotel - Shanghai

    Outside of hotel is a construction site - they are removing a ceramic tile casing from the exterior walls of the hotel and the place is dusty/dirty. Inside the hotel the carpets are "minging" with filth from dirty feet walking in. IN your room you better wear shoes or your feet with be black with dirt.

    Nightmare stay

    I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last four years, but on this occasion it was a nightmare. The external surface of the buiding is being refurbished, I believe they are having new windows fitted, but are using pnuematic drills to remove the tiles around the window reveals and other areas. Whilst the work is during the day, the was no warning that this work was be carried out when booking or upon arrival and as I was attampting to work on my laptop in the room during one and a half days of my stay this time, the noise made it impossible. Annoyed only at the fact this is not advertised, to enable me to have chosen another hotel. Check directly with the hotel if the work is still continuing for the period you are intent on staying; if it is then avoid it.

    Excellent Business Hotel

    This hotel is centrally located, and bus and train stations are not far (20 minutes or so). The breakfast buffet is very good, providing lots of choices. My room was very clean, and the bed reasonably comfortable. The hotel staff is attentive and helped make my stay very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to any businessperson looking for safe, comfortable, and convenient lodging.

    Outstanding Hotel in Shanghai

    This hotel exceeds your most extrict expectations. It shows as a 5 stars hotel. With seven restaurants to choose from, the western restaurant is quite good, from the excellent breakfast buffett to the great dinner courses at great prices. Service is also excellent. If you need ANYTHING, a person will be at your door, three minutes after you call the reception desk. They still need a little education about western drinks, though. They seem to know every ingridient of the drinks, but they are not master yet the proportions, what glass to choose to serve them, or what is the apprpriete temperature. It is only a matter of them learning, and it will be perfect! (This is in all of China, by the way, not only in this hotel)
