A good experience
Lovely hotel, suitably isolated in pleasant grounds, yet close to parks, forests and local shops (15 minute walk). I was able to have lovely early morning runs through the forest to Forge Dam. The service was good, the breakfasts excellent, and the staff helpful and friendly. A good experience all round. I'm looking forward to a return visit.

Fantastic staff, room and breakfast!
The staff are fantastic - from the woman on reception who checked me in to the woman who seated me at breakfast and sorted out my order including a couple of special requests. Friendly and efficient. Room was lovely - nice decor and spotless, bed really comfy, lovely toiletries and glad to see in refillable bottles. Great to have a decent coffee machine in the room. All in all like the best type of boutique hotel but at a brilliant price Thank you!

We really enjoy staying at this hotel. It is very friendly and in a lovely area. This time we were just a little frustrated with the wifi - it was difficult to get any and seemed sketchy. Also, at breakfast our order was taken but it took at least 30 mins for our breakfast to arrive. We had to ask why we were waiting so long as other diners were served promptly. The server did apologise but then forgot to bring my husbands sauce and needed asking again. The food was delicious when it came. There was also a good choice on the breakfast servers. Also, a small point, the cups for tea are quite small and so I had to keep going back to the machine to refill my cup ( and use another tea bag). A larger mug or a teapot would be more economical and better for the diner. I would stay here again as overall it is lovely.

This hotel must be Sheffield's best kept secret
After suffering with an unexpected eye problem over the New Year I have had a number of eye appointments at the Royal Hallamshire hospital. Not living locally I needed somewhere to stay the night before my appointments & I came across the Halifax Hall hotel. Ideally situated, only a 5 minute drive or 15 min walk away from the hospital & free parking, if required. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Really friendly staff, quick check in but didn't feel rushed & they gave us advice on the local area. Really nice rooms, lovely & clean & the bathrobes are great. Really nice touch was the refreshment stations on each floor, for extra tea, coffee & even biscuits. Great night's sleep & delicious breakfast in the morning. We will definitely stay again.
