Extremely underwhelming for cost
Upon arrival the check in staff were not overly friendly, and it was not a great welcome to the hotel.
Once we got into the room and upon checking the facilities the bathroom was in a shocking condition with the toilet and tiles coming away from the wall (hanging off the wall) Upon reporting this, the response was I think maintenance has gone home for the day so we will move you to another room… with a minimal apology. The bathroom in the room we were moved to was better, but the flooring felt like it was about to fall through and the toilet again was starting to pull the tiles off.Again when reporting this all we had as a response was we will get maintenance to look at it once you’ve gone.
When using the Spa facilities we found these in poor condition. Prior to booking we were advised the pool was due to be refurbished and completed by the time of our stay, this was not done and the tiles on the floor of the pool were absent and coming away during the visit - the jacuzzi was not working and found out from a member this has been the case for about 2 weeks. Changing rooms also had no lockable lockers so had to be left unattended. The women’s showers had about a months worth of hair in the drains, so we showered in the room ( in view of the car park). We were told on check in we had to pay a 75 pound retainer cost for extras we might buy ,we said we wouldn’t be doing that and asked why to be told “it’s policy”. The next morning breakfast was underwhelming and rushed.
