No taxi at airport despite confirmation by the hotel, their excuse...app not working, yet it was able to, when we questioned where our taxi was.
Upon arrival, no apology, no direction to reception or, even a welcome to Cambodia! Shown to our room after an awkward period of silence.
Upon entering what appears to a very nice room - we are informed, sorry no TV ( the box which allows Cambodian TVs to work was missing, which means bill wasn't paid). Safe not working! ( Anyone knowing
Cambodia that's a must, robbed twice previously) WhatsApp QR for help from reception...4 days later still no response!
6.30am next morning we were woken to the screaming sounds of Glory Glory Hallelujah! Our room was next door to a Korean religious group who used their room as a church! A 15 strong congregation chanting for an hour. We approached reception asking to be moved whilst explaining the issue, their response - WHY? They were well aware of the make shift church but did not understand our frustration. After a few well chosen words, they moved us.
Next room - no TV, no internet, no working safe
which alarmed every hour until we removed the batteries as no one came to our room. No hot water, in fact the water was freezing.
Pools were beautiful - however fresh water pool doubles up as a staff recreation area. From 11am to 1 you share the space with approx. 20 staff, videoing you or eating.
Facilities are not as advertised, neither is breakfast, do not expect a buffet!
If you are looking for some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle but within a few minutes tuk tuk ride to the centre of town, then this is for you.
From the very start you are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble when arranging airport transfers, early breakfast etc.
The property is kept spotlessly clean which includes the room and pools areas.
The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and aid a good nights sleep.
The two pools are beautiful and a welcome retreat from the heat and humidity.
Two constructive feedback areas are;
1) If you are staying more than a couple of days then the lack of breakfast variety on offer may be an issue
. That said, the food is well cooked and tasty.
2) it would be good if the staff could check when seeing people using the pool if they need anything such as refreshments. The couple of times I wanted a drink, I had to physically go and ask.
These points are very minor on what was a very nice stay and I would recommend.
Thank you for making the holiday memorable.
This is a beautiful hotel in a very peaceful setting. Upon check-in, you are given a welcome drink and a cool, refreshing cloth. In fact, upon returning to the hotel at any time, you are given a cool cloth which was so welcome after spending hours in the sun visiting the temples. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a large soaker tub in the room. The towels are all new, the water is hot on demand, the water pressure is good and all the extras of shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, etc., were a nice touch. The grounds are beautifully manicured and there are two pools. I only had breakfast one day during my stay and it was really good and there was no shortage of food. The other two days when I missed breakfast due to an early start, I was provided with a fresh fruit platter upon my return. From the friendliness and professional service of the staff, to the rooms and the price, I wouldnât hesitate to come back here again.
