Staff disposed of my personal item

Lovely hotel that is very centrally located yet peaceful. They also upgraded us to a bigger room, which we appreciated. However, during our stay one of their staff disposed of my shoebox (and receipt), which was placed on a chair. I had tried the shoes on and was debating whether to exchange them for a different size but this meant I was unable to do so. When I spoke to their management about it they claimed I had 'left it close to the bin' which was absolutely untrue. I'm glad my newly purchased shoes weren't in the box at that time or I would have lost them too. None of their staff members or management apologised for the incident, all they did was shift the blame and claim that the incident was 'being investigated' and they eventually told me the box was nowhere to be found. I found it rather unprofessional behaviour and the whole incident meant our stay ended on a bit of a sour note, especially as no one apologised to us at all. Despite that, it is still a very beautiful hotel and very conveniently located.

This is an excellent hotel. From the moment we arrived to checking out, staff like Nathan, Tricia, Kim and Thomas made our stay ever so comfortable. Rooms were awesome and dining was scrumptious. Will be returning soon.

Overall, was somewhat disappointed in our stay. During check-in, we were given a room with 2 single beds when our booking was for 1 king bed. When we called the concierge to clarify, the service staff did not offer an apology for the hiccup but asked whether we were ok to stick to the room with 2 single beds. This shouldn’t be the approach as we expected better from a 5-star hotel. Next, the drainage for the shower is dismal. Just by turning on the shower head for a few minutes and the shower was flooding as the water couldn’t drain in time. Had to wait for the water to drain before continuing with my shower. The mini fridge did not seemed to be working despite it being turned on. Generally expected better from the hotel with its legacy and reputation.

The hotel is nestled around the quiet nature part of Orchard road and has a nice view of nature which blends well with the hotel surroundings. I love the out of the norm design of the building as well as the overall green achitectural features and ecletic displays! Room were comfortable with excellent soundproofing to get optimum sleep as well as full glass window views of the outdoors! Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeble and could offer much advice on activities around the vicinity. There is also a beautiful pool to lounge in! Excellent place for staycation and to relax from the bustle.

Loved my stay at the Goodwood. Stayed in the serviced apartments section of the hotel, which was very comfortable and private. All the staff were both friendly and professional. A pity the main pool was closed for maintenance but the smaller pool was still an option and they offered pool access at a nearby hotel.
