The staff were very genuine and friendly, keen to ask how you were and if you needed anything.
The hot drink on arrival was very welcome after a journey in the rain.
The hotel felt dated in places but you could see decoration had taken place more recently. The room was ok, not great sound proofing though with very noisy neighbours.
Main issue was the huge event on at the hotel which hadn’t been communicated beforehand. Arriving at 5.45 we were told food wasn’t being served after 6.30 which was a surprise given the email we had previously outlined meal times. The party also finished late with loud music being played way past 11pm and also people leaving late with no consideration for other guests.
The courteuous thing to do would have been to communicate this ahead of time to give guests the chance to make their own decision as to whether to stay (and put up with the compromise) or choose to stay elsewhere.
Having played golf at the venue before and enjoyed it, I had expected more from the hotel as the simple things (communication!!) make the world of difference.
