We had such a a lovely stay at your manor house. It is a beautiful home. We were able to go to Newgrange and Knowth and into the village Slane for breakfast and dinner. We would definitely love to come and stay longer
Rossnaree was a prelude to our son wedding at Cabra Castle, excellent!!!Our Rossnaree house stay was a perfect beginning. Spacious elegant house with a view of Newgrange, boyne river and the Irish countryside. We entertained the wedding party, 28 people, with an exquisite meal prepared by the hosts family. Cocktails, dinner and evening entertainment on the front lawn including a tent. Wonderful experience and great way to join two families together for the start of wonderful wedding event.Thank you Aisling for all you did and for being a wonderful host. So many of our guests wanted us to pass along the their thanks and how their Rossnaree experience was so memorable.
Probably our most memorable stay. The house is amazing with its antique furniture and artwork. The view from our bedroom window was of Newgrange and the surrounding area. What beauty! Walking the grounds was a lovely experience in itself. It was a comfort that the host was nearby and came immediately when there was the slightest issue. A truly lovely woman with so much wonderful information to share! We would love to go back!
My husband and I, along with our adult children, spent 2 enchanted nights at Rossnaree in early April at the end of our first trip to Ireland. Located in County Meath, only forty-five minutes northwest of Dublin, this historic manor house provides a unique opportunity to step back in time and into the world of a renowned Irish family. At the urging of our lovely host, Aisling Law, some of us visited the nearby Newgrange UNESCO World Heritage Site, a Neolithic passage tomb that predates the Egyptian pyramids. Others of us preferred the more intimate setting of Rossnaree, steeped in the history and artistry of revolutionaries, sculptors, painters, barristers, and soldiers. Every room in this captivating home has been lovingly curated by Aisling to reveal the stories of the Law and Stuart families. Original art works, family portraits and photographs, and antique furnishings make this manor house a warm and welcoming sanctuary. Set in the mesmerizing landscape of the Boyne River, the emerald grounds were just coming into bloom. We enjoyed walking along the river, lounging on the lawn, exploring the walled garden, and watching the antics of the peafowl, ducks, and chickens. We found friendly pubs and comforting, traditional Irish food in nearby establishments, including Boyleâs of Slane and the Conyngham Arms Hotel. We highly recommend booking a stay here. Our visit was too short. There is so much to experience and explore. We will return to Rossnaree.
We loved our time at Rossnaree. It is a magical
Place steeped in the history of Ireland. Our wonderful host Aisling was so helpful and charming. We felt that our stay at Rossnaree was the highlight of our trip.

Spectacular views and a home both grand and comfortable will leave you longing to extend your stay. Aisling Law is the consummate host and greets you as old and dear friends. Comfortable beds with superior linens guaranteed blissful sleep. Highly recommend
Rossnaree House is simply amazing. Historically significant in itâs own right with views of Newgrange and Knowth across the Boyne. The owners were incredibly helpful and they and the neighbor down the lane were so friendly. The place was surprisingly clean for a place with that much history. The furnishings are comfortable but very artistic.
We had such a wonderful stay at Rosnaree last year with my husband's mom and siblings that we came back this summer with my dad and the kids! Typically we like to explore new places when we travel, but the magic of this place is something special we wanted to share. One of our kids dubbed it "My Bridgerton experience!"
Aisling has made a number of updates, including adding an accessible shower in the main floor bath. The Morning Room has such an amazing view it's worth walking through a hall to that bath! The Tiger room isn't technically en suite, but it's very private. The other rooms are en suite. Aisling made up the twin beds in the river room as a king for my husband and I. We all found the beds very comfortable - it's nice when a "stepping back in time" experience includes comfort!
Last year we visited in April and it was beautiful with daffodils and cozy fires. We all enjoyed the full bloom of June this time around.
Our family of 10 stayed here and really enjoyed it! Plenty of room inside and outside. The house has an old world charm to it and it felt as though we were transported back in time. Lots of great art throughout the home. Its location was great as it was secluded in the countryside, yet an easy drive to Dublin.
The kids enjoyed exploring the outdoors and seeing the peacocks on the property. The dining room was perfect for family dinners and the painting room for evening conversations. Lastly the host, Aisling, is wonderful and extremely welcoming. She gave us a tour of the house and property, telling us much about the history of the house and her family. All in all it was a great stay and wished we couldâve stayed longer.
The beauty of Rossnaree House, the grounds, and its views of Newgrange cannot be overstated! Aisling was absolutely wonderful to meet and converse with, and her property manager helped us get our heavy luggage to our rooms upon arrival and to our vehicle when we checked out - this was so appreciated and helpful, especially for my older parents. Aisling left us fresh eggs, bread and strawberries in the kitchen for our arrival which was amazing. Word to the wise that we had some issues with the WIFI and fitting our large adapters in some of the older outlets close to the floor, but that was minor. Just want folks to be able to plan accordingly. There are WIFI instructions on hand and the property manager said he could help with any issues, we just didnât have time to meet up with him due to our schedule and shorter stay. It really made no difference, because it was minor in comparison to the history and beauty this home and grounds have to offer. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to be back! Iâd recommend you bring smaller plug adapters and work with the property manager early on if you have an issue connecting to the WIFI - it could have been our error. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, Aisling! I hope to return someday soon!!
The house and grounds are beautiful and the view is spectacular. The owner is gracious. We did not understand from the description that a car is a virtual necessity for a pleasurable stay here. Nothing is within walking distance and there is no public transportation. Again, the setting of the house is fantastic and the house is suitable for a large group. We were seven and had room left over. The experience was priceless.
We felt as if we were characters in a Jane Austin book
First of all, Ainslie was a warm and wonderful host and we thank her! She stocked the kitchen with fresh breads, cakes, milk and butter. The home is magnificent and you can read its history in one of the books in the drawing room. The grounds are ample and gorgeous with views of rolling hills with sheep and cattle atop. There were 10 of us and we all had our own rooms and bathrooms. We could see Newgrange from the window. The kids were enchanted by the chickens, peacocks, geese and ducklings. It was a 40 min drive into Dublin but that suited our purposes. The only reason I didnât give a perfect Cleanliness score was because itâs impossible to keep such a large country home immaculate. There are bound to be a few bugs or cobwebs. To be clear, we were very happy with our stay
We had a wonderful stay at Rossnaree House! Aisling was available whenever we called, answering any questions that we had. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated- a real privilege to be able to stay there!
It was amazing waking up and looking out my window to see Newgrange and Knowthe. What an experience to be in such a beautiful and historic home. The grounds are amazing, took a long walk along the Boyne with a couple of donkeys joining in. Aisling was welcoming and generous. The library with the with the large screen projector was perfect for us to watch Downton Abbey and pretend we were there!
The house and location way exceeded our expectations. The house itself is absolutely stunning crammed with beautiful artwork and furniture. The views and location were absolutely incredible. We fished in the private stretch of river with great success. Aisling was always on hand to offer advice and tell us about some of the history of the property. All in all it was a magical stay . Thankyou Aisling from my family and I , and I very much hope we can come back to your magnificent house and country again . Nick &family.
Our stay at this historic home and property was a pure delight. Our host and her family were so welcoming and the area is a fascinating place. Adults and children alike enjoyed the zip line behind the house and wandering the fields along the river with the local animals. Everything was perfection!
This is an 1850 mansion (or manor house) with lots of rooms, staircases, peacocks, swallows, and character! We had a lovely visit for 3 nights. The grounds are spectacular, you can see Newgrange, Knowth, and the Boyne River Valley (and can walk right down to the river). Aisling was a delight, very responsive and friendly. A great visit, recommended for large groups!
We received the warmest Irish welcome from Aisling, complete with a brief tour and history of the property, home, and to top that all off, we had fresh bread, fruit and jam to enjoy. What a welcomed treat after our long travels!
There is so much rich history to learn about the home and surrounding property. It was truly a magical experience in every way.
Aisling arranged fishing and kayaking on the Boyne River for our family and two lovely dinners on the property, one at the house and one in the magical forest.
The location is perfect for trips into Dublin, Slane and Newgrange.
Aisling and her team were the perfect hosts and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was lovely and memorable.
Two days was not long enough at this charming place. The house was well appointed and we took long walks around the property. The town of Slane was the delightful as well. Highly recommend.
Our group of 8 senior adults had a very educational and relaxing experience while staying at the historic Rossnaree House. Located on the Boyne River with walking trails from the home provided excellent fresh air adventures. The history of the house and of the family added to the charm of the surroundings. Aisling was a perfect hostess and was very attentive to our needs. Her knowledge of the area assisted us in decision making regarding our activities. Highly recommend staying at Rossnaree.
Our family gathered in Ireland for a 93rd birthday celebration and spent three days at Rossnaree House.
We booked the home because of itâs history and central location. We spent full days exploring the surrounding area â the BrĂș na BĂłinne valley, the Mountains of Mourne and a visit to the Irish National Stud. Coming back to the house was slipping back in time as we relaxed in the drawing room with a warm fire.
The internet worked in the drawing room, but phones took a backseat to the experience of simply being in the space. Youâre surrounded with such history in the home and in the land! Sunrise over the field of daffodils with Newgrange across the river felt close to the druids that called this land home. We walked the land down to the river accompanied by donkeys and sheep. âRosenareeâ means wood of the kings â the walk took us past an ancient structure that could be part of the naming.
The evening of my mother-in-lawâs birthday, Aisling created a celebratory and delicious dinner â she dressed the formal dining room with china and candles and flower arrangements and delighted our group. If she offers, accept!!
A few specifics about the house â itâs very clean and easy to move into, welcoming. Itâs also a little like moving into a house youâd see on a tour â you half expect to see ropes across chairs warning âdo not sitâ, but there are no such restrictions. There is one bedroom on the main floor, and a half bath on the main floor as well. There are stairs to the other bedrooms and bathrooms. Bring warm jammies and socks! Electric heaters are a great addition to the fireplaces, but itâs an old stone house. You snuggle in grateful for the warm duvets on comfortable beds.
We didnât cook a lot, we found excellent restaurants close by, and of course, the amazing birthday dinner by Aisling. We did use the small kitchen for our breakfasts â a good coffee maker, fresh eggs, bread and jam were perfect. It would have functioned well had we chosen to eat in; it is a room for cooking, rather than gathering. The heart of the house for us was the drawing room.
Our explorations took us across the country to other amazing spaces, the introduction to Ireland at Rosenaree House set a magical tone for the trip.
This is a charming large historic manor on a picturesque property overlooking the River Boyne and Newgrange. The house was massive and filled with an incredible collection of world art pieces and antiques. Aisling was a perfect host, greeting us with fresh brown bread and an incredible strawberry tart. She brought us fresh eggs from the hens on the property. We were in good company with the friendly dogs and white peacock. The kids had a blast on the long zipline at the back. Highly recommend staying here.
