Comfortable Cottage With Spectacular Sea And Mountain Views

Knoydart Cottage, on the beautiful and mystical Isle of Skye, is at the heart of some of Europe’s most spectacular scenery. The cottage was designed to take full advantage of the breath taking views across the Sound of Sleat to the mountains of Glenelg and the Knoydart Peninsula.

Its position makes the cottage the perfect base for a holiday on Skye, whether you are looking for an action-filled week or a relaxing break, with stunning views + beaches only a 5 min walk away. We look forward to welcoming you. Please note our change over day is Saturday .

The two-bedroom cottage has recently been completely renovated and refurbished to provide an extremely comfortable and superbly equipped holiday home, that sleeps 4.

At the end of a day exploring, if you simply want to enjoy the local fare (and not have to cook!) then Knoydart Cottage is ideally placed to sample the varied choice of gourmet restaurants, from simple snacks to fine dining.

What a view!

We had a lovely stay at Knoydart Cottage, the cottage itself is very homely and the view is spectacular. The kids had a ball exploring the garden, although we encountered a few ticks, so do keep an eye out. The convenience of the Duisdale Hotel literally being next door was great for the nights we couldn't be bothered cooking dinner. A beautiful part of Skye, Armadale Castle down the road is also a must see, fabulous play area for the kids. Highly recommend 👌

Lovely cottage and beautiful location

We had an amazing stay in this lovely cottage. The location is perfect for the quieter side of Skye. My son absolutely loved the garden, which is massive! If I had to moan about one thing it was the fact that there wasn’t a hand whisk however there was a blender, scales, flasks and whatever else you could possibly need! We had a great time! Thank you

This is the second time we have stayed in the cottage. It’s a great location, close to amenities yet quiet and with fabulous ever changing views. The cottage itself is kept to a high standard, is well appointed and absolutely perfect for a couple. We had a great week once again!

Cottage by the sea

We really loved this little cottage by the sea. The view from the front room and patio was spectacular. The beach was a short walk loved collecting shells and rocks. This is a nice quiet side of the island. It was a very good home base and so comfortable. Really really loved it.

Great base to see the island

Knoydart Cottage is a great property with amazing views and is perfectly placed to get out and about to see the whole island. Easy access from both the bridge and the ferry. The cottage was just as described. It is close enough to amenities for the times you need them, but also far enough away to have a holiday away from it all. The welcome note and goodies were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can highly recommend. Thank you Christine!

The view from the living room was amazing. The property was clean and well looked after. Lovely welcome basket was provided with fruit, milk, eggs, shortbread, wine and a selection of tea and coffee. We made good use of the OS maps and walk-in guides that were provided for borrowing.

This is a great place to stay. The property itself is well equipped and there are lots of clever touches which make you feel instantly at home. On top of that Christine is a responsive and friendly owner who provides a really thoughtful welcome basket too. It’s a great location with stunning views and quick access to a tranquil beach, plus local amenities in Broadford are just a short drive away. Beyond that, you’ve all of Skye to explore AND easy access to places on the mainland too. Whole heartedly recommend staying here!

Beyond expectations!

We had a brilliant time at Knoydart Cottage - really well-equipped, super-clean and comfortable, and with many extra thoughtful touches. The view across to the mainland is fabulous and even on less than sunny days it was simply mesmerising to watch the weather moving over the mountains.

Amazing cottage in a stunning location

I can't rate Christine and her property highly enough. The whole process of booking was so straightforward with instant communication with Christine, Which was greatly appreciated. Upon arrival, we couldn't believe the stunning views that we would have for the week. It was truly breathtaking. The amenities of the cottage were fantastic and had everything you could possibly imagine. A touch of luxury

The Sleat peninsula is our new favourite place! Less ‘wild’ than the North of the island where we have stayed before. Knoydart Cottage has an immediate relaxing effect the moment you walk in the door! We gave 4* (rather than 5*) only because of the road. For us 5* would have been to have that uninterrupted sea view. However, the road is a much quieter one than others so it did not bother us when we were in the garden eating / reading / sunbathing (I did sunbathe in May!). We took our own coffee machine - no need as the cottage has their own great barista coffee machine; also appreciated the supply of teas and other kitchen essentials, eggs from the hens across the road, dressing robes, lovely toiletries and the midgie spray (aka Skin So Soft)! I got up at 4.30am (one day only!) to enjoy the wonderful, varied dawn chorus and take photos of the sunrise from the patio. Beautiful experience.

Fantastic place

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. We arrived to a lovely welcome note from Christine and fresh milk, eggs from the chickens across the road, a bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine - great hospitality. The internet was good and Sky TV worked well (Netflix and Prime available). The view from the living room is stunning. The cottage is ideally located for exploring Skye and also the mainland. We would definitely return.
